Escape from Sokha Hotel: An Expose
Escape from Sokha Hotel: An Expose
https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50823790/e ... -incident/
Opening Scene: It is February 7, 2021. The four female Chinese nationals were on a private jet from Dubai bound for Phnom Penh. The first COVID-19 victim of the four was seated directly behind another already infected but yet to be detected COVID-19 positive carrier until she landed at the Phnom Penh International Airport, did her swab test, checked into Sokha Hotel and then disappeared the next day, after testing positive.
The Escape Scene: February 8, 2021 evening. On cue, the four slipped out of the hotel in pre-arranged transport. They linked up with others in the same occupational trade who included two female Vietnamese before meeting various clientele for their pre-arranged trysts. The various destinations that they visited included condominiums and apartments in the vicinity of Sokha Hotel and in the high-end neighbourhood of Chamkar Mon located just across the river from the hotel. They then moved to the N8 nightclub where they mingled with others, including innocent patrons, allowing an efficient spread of the COVID virus to take place.

What a load of shit. An expose that exposes next to nothing.
1. What were a group of young Chinese girls doing on a private jet flying in from Dubai?
2. Why were they labelled as sex workers by local press, including Fresh News? (Also linked to NagaWorld)
3. Why did a quartet of presumed hookers get into the 5* Sokha instead of Ting-Tong Happy Hotel like everyone else?
4. Why have none of these women been named/shamed?
5. Let's presume there is some basis for the above- who's behind it, and which high-rollers are in these ladies' 'little black books' of contacts?
6. Is there an international underground sex-for-cash junket going on in the casinos of Cambodia that a bit of virus has unwittingly 'exposed'?

I doubt a highroller in Naga will be statisfied with an average local hooker experience. So I am not suprised they would be flown in. There already is at least one ktv with ladies of questionable age where Naga customers are dropped off for entertainment. Judging by the cars parked in front they are well connected and don't need to fear law enforcement.
Good questions Mr T J Hooker, but a bit harsh on the Khmer Times me thinks. It is very likely the best investigative journalism they have ever done and I read it with interest.
Let's agree the K Times are starting from an extremely low base and have here not even marginally approached the quality of the old Cambodia Daily, or the old weekly Phnom Penh Post. Journalism in the country took twenty steps backwards over the last ten years. Many are to blame, but from long ago we know there are/were some very solid Khmer writers and photographers. This does leave thousands of questions unanswered, but it is at least step in the right direction.
They do say they were muzzled by authorities as it is still an active investigation. Let us hope the companies and individuals who organized the whole thing and brought these women in are fined well in excess of a million dollars. I don't much care about the names of the working girls, but the Feb 20th Event has cost the Cambodian Government a great deal and Cambodian businesses at least tens of millions of dollars. (Did this calculation sans envelope back, so feel free to challenge me on it with your own estimate if you wish!) Fining and jailing hotel guards and taxi drivers is fine, but these top folks are the ones HE should truly hold responsible.
Don't ya think?

They were named when this latest outbreak started.

6 There has always been an underground sex trade for high end girls. Everywhere.
5. This is the question that I am most curious about as well.
Cambodia Airports logs every plane and passenger movement. Tell us who owns the private jet, who leases it, who chartered it and booked their seats. That's a fair start.
I tried to look back into flightradar24 and similar websites but for free accounts they go back for just a few days/weeks. It would be interesting to see what entity flies them in and how this happens....
All in all a load of shit- without a credited author. This is the KT being used to press forth the anointed one HM's agenda, possibly trying to get rid of any rival factions that could be lurking in the MoH. Probably a Mohan piece. And the writing is also terrible.Cricket99 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 9:26 amAnswers to 1, 2 and 3 are in the article. 1. No, or missed it?? 2. Not really, just a few euphemisms 3. L.L answered 4 No, he didn't- where are their names, if they were named, why did KT not repeat them if they were in the public domain
6 There has always been an underground sex trade for high end girls. Everywhere. Yes, of course, but would be interesting to put that angle instead of a nudge-nudge, wink-wink

high priced call girls or gold .money smugglers?
"We are turning into a nation of whimpering slaves to Fear—fear of war, fear of poverty, fear of random terrorism, or suddenly getting locked up in a military detention camp on vague charges of being a Terrorist sympathizer." HST
All? Thought I'd read somewhere there were 20 of them or something?Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 11:05 amThey were named weeks ago, not my problem if you haven't been keeping up.L.L answered 4 No, he didn't- where are their names, if they were named, why did KT not repeat them if they were in the public domain
