Partial Sangkat lockdown in Phnom Penh
Seems more closures coming up. Family in Boeng Tumpun in panic and wanting money to buy extra things, food, etc.

Tell them not to panic, my area is locked down but nothing noticeable has changed - can still get to market and it has the same variety of food.

Oh please, enough this fear mongering. Almost nobody dies in Cambodia from covid. People here are generally more slim and healthier. Let’s call a spade a spade: very old people may die or fat people may die. Even these two categories are highly likely to survive, although not for long, as being very old or fat guarantees a short life ahead, no matter what disease.fotojourn wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 6:04 amAnd then, in keeping with Khmer tradition they spread it for a couple of weeks until one is almost dead and someone drags their almost lifeless body to a hospital where they promptly die "because doctors are expensive so we only use them really, really sick".
Last year in February Cambodian tv was all about showing the prime minister declaring that it’s a disease of fear that is spreading that is the real problem and people should calm down. Now, those were wise words. I thought at the time that Cambodia is on the right course, and with all the scars of its recent past, it is not so easy to make Cambodian people afraid. Was i mistaken? Are they afraid now? The PM’s rhetoric for sure has changed.
You are utterly wrong. The deaths come >= 2 weeks after infection. And the exponential rise in cases is only in the past week. So the death rally is still in the make.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 7:22 pmOh please, enough this fear mongering. Almost nobody dies in Cambodia from covid. Forget Europe, how about the closest neighbors?
Well, Thailand’s pm does not want to introduce a national lockdown again despite rising cases. Hopefully he made the right conclusion that lockdowns make no sense. It is never too late to choose the right way instead of blind thoughtless copying. Next week is critical to observe if he flips back under pressure from panicking sheeple.
