It could be a great solution to get rid of some annoying coworkers. Every office has some, just hope it isn't you. A nice side hustle as the Chinese pay good money.
On a more serious note; there are more signs of a crackdown which mostly free Vietnamese, some Thai and Filipino. Mostly because their embassies get involved. Curious to see if the Chinese adapt by targeting other nationalities. I've seen increasing reports about Indians. Are we gweilo still safe? Haven't seen them pop up too much in reports other than a few Eastern Europe hookers.
The big fish seem out of reach for now.... With the Lao economy imploding some operations might choose to relocate.

Anymore?
You’ve never even set foot here.
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t “safe” in the 70s all the way up to the early 00. Even after that it was very rough place to be, even now.
Best you stay in your cave.

To be honest I am from a very bad third world place so maybe I shouldn't pass too much judgement on Cambodia. I wouldn't call America a cave because caves have natural beauty and provide shelter to the people in them.
There’s no “third world countries” anymore.CharmingOwl wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 9:23 amTo be honest I am from a very bad third world place so maybe I shouldn't pass too much judgement on Cambodia. If you think the US is that way you’re in for a shock.

Thanks, you worked a miracle with a simple statement!
Interestingly, the term arose during the Cold War, to identify countries that were not aligned with either NATO or the Warsaw Pact.
In recent years, the term has come to define countries that have high poverty rates, economic instability and lack basic human necessities like access to water, shelter or food for its citizens. These countries are often underdeveloped, and in addition to widespread poverty, they also have high mortality rates.
Plenty of those around, still. UK, frinstance.

Modern third-worldist communists use that term to identify the global south that is exploited by western imperialism. Although in reality the west is now living in shitty conditions due to societal inequality and greed by the ruling classes. To be honest if those terms were made today the top countries probably wouldn't be US UK or Canada.that tard wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 5:12 amThanks, you worked a miracle with a simple statement!
