Are these Farmer Tom's / Kunthea's farm? I'd imagine they are great. their peanut butter is fantastic.
Farmer Tom is in Saigon on his way to Sydney. His new girlfriend of 6 months is running the vaccuum packed peanut business...No peanut butter but all the plastic container packaging he used is with me and is for sale (see the "Plastic containers from Thailand" thread....His partner told me she has 40 1 kilogram bags for sale and can supply a lot more. Tom's products are all very good, almost too good as his profit margin is very small. His partner has limited English skills so I am helping out a little.
got a small plastic bag of roasted cashews for 30000 riel. perhaps half kilo, but didnt weight it or ask. from the ladies who specialize in plastic bags of snacks with elastic band closures in the markets. so when i got them home was pleased that they were fresh and tasty

Where can you get pink Himalayan salt here? Not looking to start my own peanut business don't worry, just it's a very healthy salt vs the usual processed table salt junk.

i use this in place of salt, anchovy have special characteristics which i have currently forgotten, but healthy yes. yes this is the sauce that the Thais add chili cuts to. red chili and this sauce super healthy combo = prik nam plaa in thai. side dish that thai give you with many dishes
khmer also have fish sauce but havent figured out a preferred brand yet or if its is a anchovy extract containing sauce as opposed to some other seafood

They had it in Aeon Supermarket, probably still do.
This guy is also apparently selling it in "20 supermarkets across Phnom Penh" https://www.spice-grind.com/about.html

will keep an eye open for them, usually pass by the imported brands as they are overpriced, mostly get the herbs i need from open air markets fresh cut combo bundles for next to nothing. also got these fresh cut bundles in bayon for 1000 riel or near that

Tom just arrived in Austrlia...Will try to ask him about the salt but probably Aeon Mall as he went there every day....Or perhaps in Bangkok as he bought a lot of his stuff from there too.
I usually get sea salt from Kampot, but if you are looking for really special salt get the Kampot Fleur de Sel:Spigzy wrote:Where can you get pink Himalayan salt here? Not looking to start my own peanut business don't worry, just it's a very healthy salt vs the usual processed table salt junk.
The Fleur de Sel forms at the surface of the basin for a short while. It can only be harvested manually by the sea workers using a special rake, due to its fragile crystalline texture. For every kilo of Fleur de Sel, 30 kg of regular sea salt are produced.http://www.farmlink-cambodia.com/produc ... lower-salt

Yes I agree I think he was saying it was around $8.20 a grinder which seems overpriced. I normally go via the markets myself but I find Super Duper have really brought down their prices on herbs lately sometimes more for your money than the markets.sociopath wrote:tombraider wrote:They had it in Aeon Supermarket, probably still do.

Yep, that's it. There's a new SD at Sothearos and Sihanouk now, as well.
