Buying a phone- Hopefully not a stolen phone.

I'm looking to upgrade my phone,
I don't need the latest model.
I just need something with a bit more memory / Ram/ whatever you call it.

There have been several hilarious posts on K440 from posters tracking down their stolen ph and causing grief to the buyer and turning the phone into a brick.

I don't want this shit to happen to me.
I want to buy a legit 2nd hand phone that has not been stolen.

Is there any way you can inspect / test a phone to ascertain it's legitimate owner ?

And if there is,
Please speak real "S-L-O-W" and if possible post pictures so I can understand what you are saying.

Thanks.

Just thought I'd share that with you.

I have the iphone X. It is insured against theft as well, comes with facial recognition and all top of the line functionality.

was previously thinking http://henghengphone.com/product/sony-xperia-m/
at 100 dollars from well respected sony but its os is older at Android OS, v4.1 (Jelly Bean) than the oukitel-c9/ above
perhaps i get both of them need somewhere to hold all my sims. not a bank breaking experience.
basically what i need is something i can bluetooth internet connect into from my netbook when i dont have hotel wifi which is rarely these days

How'd you insure it against theft?

Of course, taking the piss suggesting that phone.

I have it under Verizon in USA, it is insured through them for $13 a month and can be cancelled at any time (which I will do once out of Cambodia).

Certainly that is of little help to you, unless you get a verizon intl plan!

" it is insured through them for $13 a month" so you could get a new oukitel-c9 (at $59 from above) every 6 month and still be in the same place
cant see there would be $1000+ worth of extra functionality but i havent used either

The difference in price is worth it, for the increased processor speed, added RAM, additional storage, greater screen/body ratio, more pixels, Camera SUBSTANTIALLY better

Considering I am frequently using the phone it is a logical purchase. If you would not be using it much of your day, go for that trash one instead.

Can we get back on topic whilst you two guys take your comments to PM's ???

All I want to know is it possible to scan / check a phone to make sure it's not stolen.

^Insurance to be cancelled in a month anyway, not keeping it insured it long term.

Am running a Huawei Y5 2 which is ok for me. I bought it new for $120 Its dual sim 4g, 8gb,expandable to 32, 1gb ram
Android 5.1 (lolipop). Camera 8 MP, f/2.0, autofocus, LED flash. IMO good phone for the price, works well, not difficult to operate but Samsung are easier and have a manual answering button which the Huawei doesn't have.

Other phone is Samsung GT-18552 duel sim, running Android 4.1.2. Genuine phone but second hand and bought at Psar Sangke Market for $28 including new battery. Run ok for two years, replaced the screen last year $16 and battery recently $4. OK and very reliable but looks a bit "tati"

Avoid Samsung unless you support corruption
http://money.cnn.com/2017/08/25/technol ... index.html

Go for Apple, not corrupt and making life better for people all over the globe at all wealth levels.

I think this is even more than Miguelito would offer if his phone were stolen.

Anyway, if there's one way to reduce the theft of foreigners' phones,...
