Eire, thanks for the good info about China and sorry for the late reply. Your negative experiences with the Chinese authorities over immigration/work issues doesn't surprise me. I'm certain that would never happen in Cambodia unless you have committed a very serious crime. Here they usually just want a little bribe. Corruption and general ineptness are the norm here. Have you been to Cambodia? Frankly this country has a lot of problems and is not for everyone. I'm already thinking of decamping to a more civilized country. On the other hand, lots of foreigners love it here. And of course there are plenty of recreational opportunities! Perhaps the major attraction for most.
