Discussion room for teachers in Cambodia and beyond. The place to exchange your ideas and views on TEFLs, schools, salaries and the working world. Non-teachers welcome.
Haha, none taken! U're post reminded me why I enjoy Cambodia and probably won't look into teaching in China anytime soon, lol... Thx for the informative read, very interesting stuff.eire wrote:
PS: No offence meant to any expat teachers 'enjoying' themselves over there!
Eire, thanks for the good info about China and sorry for the late reply. Your negative experiences with the Chinese authorities over immigration/work issues doesn't surprise me. I'm certain that would never happen in Cambodia unless you have committed a very serious crime. Here they usually just want a little bribe. Corruption and general ineptness are the norm here. Have you been to Cambodia? Frankly this country has a lot of problems and is not for everyone. I'm already thinking of decamping to a more civilized country. On the other hand, lots of foreigners love it here. And of course there are plenty of recreational opportunities! Perhaps the major attraction for most.
