Throwing in the towel.....
I'm sure most of the regulars on here remember me whining about my experiences trying to secure some sort of employment here. I've finally accepted the fact that it ain't gonna happen. So the final gripe (to paraphrase Richard M. Nixon) to all of the clueless employers in this hell-hole: You won't have jackpartee to kick around anymore (I don't go by "jack", but Nixon called himself "Dick" when he lost his cool). Good-bye, everybody!

For those who don't want to stalk his old posts, they suggest that he arrived 3 years ago and is now 64 years old.
Did you get no job offers at all? Or did you get crappy job offers and/or have brief stints of employment at crappy schools?

Sorry to hear it, going by the reports it seems a lot of people are having problems in regard to this. Can't you hang in for a bit longer? If things kick off with the political situation in the next couple of months I predict a mass exodus of the recent young foreign migrants.

Can't find employment but believe very employable, you need an agent, don't have an agent.. build an agency. etc...
...Always in my humble opinion...

Ah, I've perused jack's past posts a bit more.
He arrived in 2014 at age 61 and found a job within two weeks.
He then left and returned in April 2016 at age 63. It appears he has been looking since then.

Well, I did say "final gripe"; shoulda left it at that, but this really is final. I came here three years ago, found a position within two weeks (signed a stinker of a three-month contract just to get my foot in the door). When they asked me to renew, I gave them my terms for the new contract [I won't go into detail about what I wanted changed, but nothing outrageous]. They refused. I left and came back about a year ago. My plan was to start my own school from the ground up. I advertised for students and the only responses I got were from people who thought I was hiring teachers (folks who claimed to be English teachers who couldn't read a simple ad). So...I started making the rounds of all of the established schools to find a position. One place told me I was too old (they obviously couldn't be bothered to read my resume; I graduated high school in 1971 [pretty conclusive evidence that I'm a mature man]). At another school they thought I was hard of hearing (I was having difficulty understanding the administrators at the interview because their English was so poor). Just two of the examples of what I've experienced; many others equally ludicrous. So....this time I really mean it: FINAL GRIPE!

Once a teacher, always a teacher. Those days were over years ago. Want to stay here, then get creative and stop bitching.

Empathy, if you cant understand the administrators with a terrible accent how are you going to communicate with your new students (that could have terrible accents).

Well if it's any consolation I know two friends here who have both been here since UNTAC days (one is in his late 50s, the other early 60s) who both left long term jobs here in the past year and have had a lot of difficulty getting any decent work. One has already left for China, the other seems to be planning a move back west.
