Greetings fellow teachers and assorted individuals. I made a few trips through Cambodia over the first part of the year, and like it much more that lieland.

Is there a teacher out there that can give me the lay of the land on schools? i.e. what and whom to avoid, where the better schools are, a level of expectation, is PP
saturated with teachers now that Thailand has tightened their vise status, etc..

My particulars; Bachelors in business, TESOL certified, 7+ years of classroom/uni experience, 3.5 years online. Currently in a private school teaching Eng. core, Eng. elective, and Literary Analysis to grade 8, 9 and 12
Other subjects I have taught are IELTS, TOEFL, business English, medical English, and a few prospective lawyers studying for the bar.

Many thanks, in advance. A round of drinks or two for the chap/chick that can divulge useful info. :) :pissed: :bonez: :prey:

Why did you change your username? If you forgot the password to "Osiris" the mods can reset it for you.

My computers/websites/FB/emails were hacked. I've changed many things. Thanks for asking.

I have a wp and all is legal, but I'm over Thailand and all of it's rhetoric.

The question regarding Thai visa's was asked because there has been a mass exodus of teachers here, and I wanted to know if there has been a corresponding rise in teachers next door. If the market is saturated, the salaries are likely to go down. Just looking for a little insight. :)

As people on this board are telling you to forget Cambodia, have you considered China or Japan, Osiris2?

With your qualifications, you could get a good paying job in Vietnam. This is based on what I've seen and read on FB expat pages for Da Nang and Hanoi. Plus a freshly minted teacher friend had two job offers in Saigon right after graduating the course for teaching English as a second language. There have been countless posts for teachers.

With your quals you could get a decent job here, no worries. The market is saturated with barely qualified and moodily experienced men, much less saturated with teachers who know a little about what they are doing. My son works in Saigon and this is an option but he does not earn any more than a regular teacher here, minus the two months unpaid in the summer, and yes he is unqualified.

Or try Myanmar? Let me know how it is if you do!
