Schools/classes still ongoing over KNY?
Are teachers and students still expected to be working / studying over Khmer New Year, now that the holiday has been postponed?

Didn't you get the memo? Schools are closed.
Schools - at least the good ones - are conducting lessons online. So it's a good question. My guess is that lessons will not go ahead next week, but I've had no confirmation from my kids' school yet.

In true Kafkaesque style, most places I've heard are still to remain 'open' for the holidays, even though they have been ordered 'shut'. Remember most private school owners often have their bejeweled fingers in many pies, so don't want to upset the Samdech Techo.
A lot of places have allowed local staff to 'volunteer' with online classes and are put on strike pay of between 20-50% of usual salary, with the promise of KNY. Of course there have been no refunds to parents who have pre-paid for the term/year.
Now that promise has been broken and those doing online are expected to continue, even though many are already working from home.
I hear that Beltei are still paying local teaching staff full salary (but has been delayed.....), but all staff are expected to go in to the school building and work from there during contract hours. They have to work through next week too.
Seems like most TEFLers have been let go with next to no, or actually no pay, while a few are being kept with similar conditions as the locals.

Massive stalker
Teachers are at school doing teacher training. No new material/classes this week but kids are encouraged to check that all past online classes are completed/up to date. Online classes resume next week.
