What happened at southbridge?
I came across this and other more damning reviews about him from different schools in different countries about 2 years ago. He's a snake oil salesman.
I lost a job under this charlatan’s woeful, acutely incompetent leadership. He is well known to surround himself with ‘yes men’ due to a painful insecurity resulting from his complete lack of pedagogical understanding. An extremely nasty, empty suit.
Guess it’s time for him and his sidekick to move on to the next unexpecting school who are happy to put skin colour, gender and empty saccharine management speak before any kind of professional competence.
Good riddance

Why don't Dwayne's defenders expound? Could it be that he's guilty and they can't?
I think the onus is on accusers to prove guilt, the most common principle in world justice systems
... if we were in a courtroom that would be applicable. However, we are on an internet message board, and I'm not even sure what proof would look like on that medium.onecur wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 7:10 amI think the onus is on accusers to prove guilt, the most common principle in world justice systems
Why doesn't Dwayne's one defender expound? Or Dwayne himself? Multiple teachers from multiple schools in multiple countries have accused him of things. Why does he not speak on his own behalf? Coward.tell me why wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 5:25 pmExpound, please do.
If it were only one school or one reported incidence perhaps? Based on what I have read here, this man has a history of behaving like this not just at one school but a number of them. It surprises me that he is still working at all let alone at this school. The right thing to do would be for him to resign and walk away from the school. Rather it appears he is digging in and holding on. I wonder what that is all about and why he is doing it.
It is embarrassing for both him and the school, why he has not had his contract terminated already. I would have thought with this sort of scandal, shame and notoriety for all the wrong reasons, this would make him a very risky employment proposition in Cambodia. If the student’s parents hear about this, which no doubt they will, you can only imagine how many students will withdraw from the school. Someone needs to do something about this and quickly this cannot be allowed to just go on unaddressed and without resolution.

As someone who worked under Dwayne and have seen his boyfriend's writing regularly (or Dwayne's, who knows... Looking at you Bea86), it amazes me that many major schools still hire management people without a single Google search. Am I being crazy by following up on people's references and googling them before hiring them to our mid-tier international School?
Dwayne is all talk and bullshit in action. During his time in FIS he started the year with an all-school meeting, speaking to us on a Saturday special event like we were 5-year-olds... (Maybe he thought that's what excites Khmer people), pronouncing our top hat's name as Choy (fuck) and then going on about the big changes he is going to implement. One of them being communications being clarified: no use of TK, TTP etc. abbreviations of campus names. Be Precise! As if any of that really mattered to the people already working in FIS. He had picked up something he found annoying and made a whole presentation about it.
Our year with Dwayne was littered with him sending mass-scolding emails, where someone on some of the 4-7 (counting just primary, or early years as well) campuses had made a mistake, and it seemed to him that it was worth telling everyone off. This is management 101. Praise in public, scold in private. I've never worked before him, nor after him, in a more oppressive environment than what he was able to instil on FIS during his short tenure. On top of endless, badly written (sometimes visibly drunk), depressing, and salty emails, scolding the whole staff, he delighted us with his mini-professional developments, that focused on low-level team building games (every professional teacher loves those instead of using the time to plan their lessons) and oral sessions going on for hours about how a cherry pie has many pits, but are you "choosing" to remember the pits or the pie?
Unfortunately, my memories of Dwayne are the pits, none of that Southern pie...
He was also very capable of replacing almost half of the specialist staff with his favourite mates: The gay boys... In the middle of the year he introduced a bunch of new positions in FIS and reshuffled a bunch of them to be replaced by his gay mates from the Philippines. People struggled to hold onto their jobs, yet these gayboys kept pouring in from somewhere (Note to reader: Nothing against gayboys, since the writer is one, but nepotism is nepotism and should be called out).
At the end of the year, a bunch of teachers I personally know were very qualified and up to the task (maybe too mouthy and proud) got fired from FIS. That's when FIS started to turn into a "quiet people, quiet Filipinos, and Dwayne"-kind of dreamland.
Turns out his leadership wasn't that great, top management and board of directors didn't love it, and he either left or was fired from Footprints International School. He allegedly left the country for a while due to Covid in family and popped back to Phnom Penh in less than a year to land a job in Southbridge.
Southbridge teachers contacted old FIS teachers to ask about MR. Dwayne. Old and current FIS teachers were happy to give the muck on Dwayne Lehman. Southbridge teachers were trying to get rid of him before he even started in Southbridge.
Turns out none of this mattered because Southbridge didn't do their homework.
This monster of a human being is still on the loose with his "started masters in a bullshit university 6 years ago but still in progress"- papers and his charming appearance of an honest, shyish, but decisive southern belle with his Filipino boyfriend.

The issue is not just him. Anyone under him has been disempowered to complain simply because no one above dwayne cares and he knows that. He won't quit, but he also won't be fired because that would be an acknowledgement of a mistake....can't do that. Admitting to a mistake requires morals.Throwaway 97 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 9:21 pmWhy doesn't Dwayne's one defender expound? Or Dwayne himself? His time to leave will come, but so will many other talented teachers before him. Dwayne himself was hired by the blundering HoS before him who resigned on a friday without telling anyone. She was hired after walking out on a job in china. That HoS also hired the sociopathic Primary Principal....who also resigned and ALSO previously walked out on a job in china....and was fired from a previous school, but don't talk about that.
But again, no one cared. It saved some money. Besides dwayne makes lost of posters (complete with multiple spelling mistakes and references to exams which don't exist) to cover up the cracks. Literal cracks too. Kids can play on bare concrete right?
The problems are systemic and won't disappear when he does
