Yeah, he had a beard, but I'd guess he's more than 40. He was wearing a battered pair of flip-flops.gusone wrote:@ hanky- did the guy you saw have a beard - 40 or so but haggard- possibly no shoes?
Who Gives a Fuck?
LoL, he puts on a show in public to scam and I snap a picture in public and post it. If I had posted it earlier Cinnetcutter might still have an extra $20 bill.badboybubby wrote:hate this shaming shit...have the commentary whatever...but getting into peoples faces and posting pictures on the net...sorry...not good...cambod wrote:LoL, I just saw Turkey Man at the Sorya bus station during the water festival.... Snapped a few quick pics of him in action...
what kind of vigilante guardians of public morality come here...
Besides, he's celebrity status, they forfeit their right to privacy. He's wearing a mime costume, for f's sake ;-D
I almost blew his cover a few times, but the tuktuk driver with a glass eye (some must know him, from lakeside and speaks great english) stopped me saying, "He needs the money and the person giving feels good about it/gets lucky..." So I just laughed about his reasoning as we all watched him unsuccessfully try to scam 3 people back to back.
Jamie is harmless as long as you don't leave your bike anywhere near him.
Never did me any harm but then I don't have a bike.
Mind you how did he get he keys to Falcon's bike in the first place cos I don't think he hot wired it?

He doesn't steal (anymore), or rob and it's mostly stupid people( who seem quite happy to be told that they met the "TM") that give him money- a fool and his money are easily separated or something like that, proving that Jamie is no fool.
For the record: Jamie is a far nicer person now than he was 10/12 years ago. He used to be an aggressive racist cunt and now he's ever so humble and is rather embarrassed by his occupation - that's what it is an occupation- and every time I see him we have a chat and i think "by the grace of god there go I" .
So give the guy a break he does you no harm.
Being a con artist is an occupation? Lying to people and defrauding them into giving you money is an occupation? I guess calling elderly people on the phone and pretending to be their stranded grandchild and tricking them into wiring money is a harmless occupation as well. After all, old people are weak and stupid and they kind of deserve to get scammed. And I guess all the Nigerian scammers who are duping Cambodians into advancing money for jobs in London are harmless swell chaps as well.
Just like I am only young and handsome when I'm in a Cambodian hostess bar, Jamie is only a harmless nice guy when compared in context to all the other criminal junkie lowlifes who have washed up in Phnom Penh.

I was over in Morocco last month and was pestered by a couple of scammers, with various bullshit stories. I didn't mind slotting them a small amount of cash if they were quite inventive, even though they were obviously talking shit, not least as it was the easiest way to stop them following me down the street. If I was an expat resident, I wouldn't give them the time of day, nor do I entertain people scrounging at home. Turkeyman & co. will survive as long as there are holidaymakers/travellers who, lets face it, don't mind wasting money on things they probably wouldn't at home.
Junkie beggars/theives piss me off, but I know that they'll get theirs one day. It doesn't mean I've got to be the one to serve it up.

Politicians and priests seem to think so, they have been doing it for centuries.gavinmac wrote:Lying to people and defrauding them into giving you money is an occupation?

so you are a guardian of public morality AND you think he's fair game because he's PUBLIC property AND you think it's in the PUBLIC interest...cambod wrote:LoL, he puts on a show in public to scam and I snap a picture in public and post it. cambod...it's all very well to be flippant about it but if you seriously thought about this stuff maybe you wouldn't be...
i'm not mad at Sorya because there's an important distinction...he stole from them...theirs is a legitimate interest and their response is proportional...
the question goes to you as to your interest...keeping in mind that you've shamed him to the rest of the world...and think about what shame and public shame means in terms of potential consequences...
