Hello all, On Sunday July 10th, the Lone Star Saloon will hosts its Third Annual Chili Cookoff.

Anyone is free to enter and the winner will receive a 100.00 bar tab, their picture in the Bayon Pearnik, and bragging rights to making the best pot of chili in Cambodia!
This year we are putting a tent out in the street and making it a chili cookoff/street party. There will likely be some live music..........but there will definitely be a lot of great chili and a lot of fun!

The cost is 6.00 to be a taster and sample great chili all day.

Or 12.00 to be a judge. There are only 15 spots open for judges so sign up quick! Judges are gauranteed to sample each chili and will receive a free Chili Cookoff Tee Shirt.

We feed the judges first, the entrants second, and the tasters third. Don't worry.........there is plenty of chili to go around...........Come with a hearty appetite.

This is, without a doubt, our best bar party of the year. The chili is great, the judges take their responsibility seriously......and everyone has a hell of a good time.

Alleycat Dallas has won twice in a row.........but I hope to keep him from lighting his victory cigar this year.

Hope to see you there

Jeez, is it that time of the year again?

Put me down tentatively as a judge... will confirm by tomorrow.

Don't think Dallas will enter after he hasn't received the remaining 50$ of his bar tap.
So a great opportunity to win this year.
Will give it a miss

a great opportunity to win this year.
Johnny Vegas, who won 2nd prize or something a couple of times won't be entering this year either as he's left town.

err because when he went in at Thanks Giving you said it had expired. So are you going to be honest and add an expiry date to the tab this year or just make it up as you go along?

Okay, I don't recall that......but tell Dallas to contact me and I will provide him with a 50.00 bar tab.

I guess I will have to put an expiry date on the bar tab.

100.00 tab good for 100 days.

If you were to make a list of all the fucked up, retarded, inept, stupid shit you shouldn't do on the roads, that would actually turn out to be the Cambodian handbook on how to drive.

You need to make a nice sized pot of Chili. We will have 15 judges to feed plus tasters. It does not need to me a massive amount............but about what you would make if you were cooking a large pot of stew.

You bring your chili to the Lone Star before noon on July 10th and we will re heat your Chili in our kitchen and serve it anonymously to the judges in a random order. Your Chili can contain anything you like..........but there are no garnishes allowed. For example, you can't top your Chili with cheese and sour cream.

We have score cards that the judges mark as they rank each chili. The judges can talk to each other and compare notes, but they are there to find the best chili and not vote for their buddy. We have not had any issues like that. The judges have done a great job in the past.

We provide a short break in between each Chili to clear the palate...........and consume some beer or other beverage. We also provide tortillas and saltines that can be eaten with the chili or in between.

At the end we tally the score cards and announce from worst to first the finishers. Last year, Alley Cat Dallas won it by one point over Johnny Vegas.

We will clean your Chili pot for you and you can pick it up that evening or the next day.

Hope to see you there.

Jesus Christ! El Capitano wants to enter his chilli? It'll have less chance in hell than a tumbling snowball! It'll probably look like b*tt gravy anyway.

It is.

And I've been to both ;)

Very worthwhile, should be even better at the new location.

Greg, would you like me to speak to the lady across the road who sells speakers again to make sure there is no conflict of music?
