Much appreciated. I see they are near the riverside, which may explain why I haven't seen them. It's an area infested with earnest backpackers and white folks draped in travelling linens who invite street urchins to their tables to maybe make themselves feel better about their $100 tabs.barforsalecambodia wrote:The first 2 are on street 136 and the last one is on street 104. I've seen 'white people' in Sizzlers before, and Sundays are usually slow nights so perhaps this was the cause of the dearth of customers in Zanzi, however I haven't been there in ages since I've always found the place to be uninviting.
I've had my bills padded at Candy Bar on many occasions and have vowed each time never to patronize the place again. Somehow I end up there several times a month.
Bars i try and avoid

Seriously, no joking, I thought PenhMan was related to, you know, this city. It's just like if NewYorkMan asked "where's the fucking world trade center ?"PenhMan wrote:Thanks for your help.Tom Corsica wrote:If you don't know basics bars why do you call yourself PenhMan ?PenhMan wrote: Can you tell me where Sizzlers, 69 Bar and Zanzibar are, please? Why did you choose that name? Just curious, not looking for a fight.
And by the way,
$100 tabs ? Really ????who invite street urchins to their tables to maybe make themselves feel better about their $100 tabs.

Hi Tom, actually it wouldn't be like NewYorkMan; it would be YorkMan, and one would probably not ask the whereabouts of the WTC these days anyway. Please think of me not as a troll, I prefer the term..."Sniper."

Cool. PenhMan just came to me as I was signing up not long ago. It has another meaning for me as well, "pen" as in writing as in my former career. Since it's clear in my profile I live in Bangkok, it does seem premature to use the name to reference PP, but it just happened. Hardly earth shattering. But I have been to PP many times now and fancy it as a (very) possible new home.Tom Corsica wrote:Seriously, no joking, I thought PenhMan was related to, you know, this city. Exaggeration for effect. But I have witnessed tables of white folks entertaining Cambodian beggar kids in riverside restaurants several times (one time a family, another time a young couple, and another time young backpacker types) as I walked the area. Beautiful riverside! But the resto/bar side almost completely occupied by white folks like me. In short, not my Cambodia, or Thailand for that matter. In BKK, I live in a Thai 'hood where I am forced to speak what little Thai I can muster. Cheers.Tom Corsica wrote:And by the way,$100 tabs ? Everything is cool, I was just surprised that PenhMan sounds like you're an old dog here, and surprisely you didn't know common things like names of bars in 136 or 104.

Is Rory's bar a place that anyone goes to on a regular basis? What ever happened to Rory? Bars I give a wide berth to: Walkabout, Billy Bobs(aka sizzler0, and Sharkeys.
