It was definitely bizarre, though more sad than frightening.

Hmm, I had a sudden flashback to when I was in Venice, in 2000.OrangeDragon wrote:They should have put up signs if they didn't want nude dancing on the tables...
Many naked Aussies dancing on the tables in the dark, sound of a bottle falling on the floor and smashing. Music off. Lights on. Bartender (another Aussie) gets everyone away from the broken glass so he can clean up. Once clean up is done, lights off, music on. Naked Aussies dancing on the tables ... till the next sound of a bottle breaking as it hits the floor. Rinse and repeat many times.

Fortunately no one did. I had a similar fear of someone stepping down off the table and straight onto a broken bottle. But, no one did that either.OrangeDragon wrote:be a bad time to slip and fall off the table onto shards of broken bottle...Dabido65 wrote:Hmm, I had a sudden flashback to when I was in Venice, in 2000.OrangeDragon wrote:They should have put up signs if they didn't want nude dancing on the tables...

I don't think I would have been brave enough at that time to have either got naked or danced on the table. I spent my time in a corner with a Japanese friend named Fumiko. She'd just turned 21 that day. Lots of people buying her drinks.
I prefer the South Korean restaurants around town, in particular Jaru, just off the Russian Blvd on St 226. The few Northie's I have been, well, what can I say? Certainly can't hold a candle to the South's superior quality. Their song and dance routine gets old after one visit. Good only for street cred, if it's worth anything.
Just remembered I have a couple of pics from one.

I am sure the answer to you question is already somewhere in the previous 11 pages.raendi wrote:New Korean named: Pyong Yang Arirang Restaurant.

Don't know have anything to do with Korean government ?
The Pyongyang restaurants are part of a state owned chain of restaurants present in a few welcoming countries our (king still has a summer palace in Pyongyang).
These restaurants are one of the few legal means for the NKDR to gather hard currencies.
A few years ago a distressed waitress tried to win her freedom. For her own safety, local police quickly helped her back to her mother land embassy compound.

I'm sure anybody can put restaurant named after Pyongyang in PNH and doesn't have anything to do with official Pyongyang-chain.Barang_doa_slae wrote:The Pyongyang restaurants are part of a state owned chain of restaurants present in a few welcoming countries

I wouldn't make that assumption... not with the original chain being NK state owned and NK being somewhat friendly with HE and company.raendi wrote:I'm not so sure, because this is new place.Barang_doa_slae wrote:I am sure the answer to you question is already somewhere in the previous 11 pages.raendi wrote:New Korean named: Pyong Yang Arirang Restaurant.
