I saw it on a Malaysia Air flight and thought it was pretty average.
There's a poppy Khmer song tuned to a montage of the actors doing touristy tourist shit in PP that I cannot get out of my head, and kind of like (yes, I have gone insane) Can't find the title for it anywhere on the net though.
Wish You Were Here (film)

Only worth watching because it was about Cambodia.

I have seen much, much worse. The problem is you can't really like any of the characters involved. The only semi interesting dude was the one that... spoiler alert... ends up on the wrong end of a viets knife. I thought it was OK. Not great and not complete shit. Some of it was believable, some decent camera work. A touch slow at times and some of the acting was below par. Could have been better for sure.

I must confess, I watched it. Some of the actors were very good, music very good, and the set up/fight scene was excellent.
I agree, some scenes were slow, but so is life.
Personally, I think the Cambodia footage was much more interesting than most of the Oz stuff, but that's very subjective.
I wouldn't watch it again, though.

I watched it twice (don't ask), and I thought the only decent actors were the 2 Ozzy kids.... Loved the Cambodian scenes, I thought they really caught the vibe of the place, at times...vladimir wrote:I must confess, I watched it. ...but Cambod, dont you just feel like banging your head against the wall - every single contemporary film set in, or about Cambodia seems to push the same old outdated shit. It is very lazy writing.cambod wrote:I watched it twice (don't ask), and I thought the only decent actors were the 2 Ozzy kids.... FFS ! I happen to quite like this place.
Why, by contrast - do films about/set-in India seem to be all about personal growth and spirituality?
Why? Why? Why?
Cambodia = Bad.
India = Dirty and difficult, but ultimately good.
Haha - my money’s on Playboy
Maybe you're right. I probably didn't watch it twice, I've just seen the same shit over and over again, even in real life...Petrol Head wrote:...but Cambod, dont you just feel like banging your head against the wall - every single contemporary film set in, or about Cambodia seems to push the same old outdated shit.
