I think krisduncs would definitely benefit from posting photos of this stuff, the prices are good and it sounds great

Too bad he wasn't in Phnom Penh. I'd be there Thursday night.

will try to remember to take a photo of a plate tomorrow night. i have a memory like a ...,what was i talking about?
The curry last night was boss, the Bombay potatoes and garlic naan were just gravy- washed down with a cold becks. I reckon you should have a 'Rusty Specials' post and update when special change Kris. You are famous for the ribs but also do the best Tex-Mex and Indian in town. Plus Kiara doesn't let me eat ribs every night. also might be worth joining the 'Kampot & Kep noticeboard' on facebook.
If he was in Phnom Penh would he be able to maintain his current pricing and if not would his existing customers be willing to pay the difference if it was 25% more?PenhMan wrote:Too bad he wasn't in Phnom Penh. I'd be there Thursday night.
good point dv8. i couldnt do it for the same prices in pp for sure. cheap rents are a thing of the past there. if i could find a reasonable place with ok rent,i would seriously think about it though. gusone,i would use that kampot and kep thingy, but dont really want to have a facebook account. im new to the world of curry making, but as long as you use all the right ingredients, and are willing to take the time to cook them properly, you cant go far wrong. photo of last nights to follow shortly. oh,and its pork schnitzel tonight. 18000riel. what would be considered a reasonable rent on a shop house in pp,in a reasonable location? anyone?
Rents on 104 street are around $1000 for a single downstairs unit, some are lower, some are higher. The first block of 136 Street is probably similar now and so is 110 street, for the hostess bars that is. Street 5, I think is around $600 but expect them to rise. 172 Street, the new backpacker area is on the rise but I think $500-$600 is about right. Jackal probably knows more about that area.
There are some locations you would think would be good but turn out to be bad.
But as they say "Location, Location, Location". Saves money on advertising, higher foot traffic counts. So I guess it all evens out in the end.

A few months back a four storey house in street 172 was up for ;grasp; at a rent of 1.800 dollars a month. The same street that did not even have tar when I first came there in 2006.dv8inpp wrote:Rents on 104 street are around $1000 for a single downstairs unit, some are lower, some are higher. Quite a difference in the 1.000 dollar a month rent a certain barang is paying in a certain Cambo seaside town for his downstair joint and 44 bedrooms up, and this on a prime location.

Don't think he's paying that now ..... plus, depending on which rumours you believe, it's now either sold or closing on the 29th February.
Who knows?
