On another Lifestyle subforum thread, someone mentions having their iPhone stolen while entertaining a "new friend". Three Bangkok friends have had theirs lifted in visits to PP over the last 5-6 months. I nearly had mine stripped from my ear a couple of weeks ago while walking along St 154 near 51.
In my case, it was an urgent call and I wouldn't normally pull the phone in full view late at night. Another mistake I made was holding the phone on my street side where an enterprising group of 3 young males could reach it and ride away on their moto. By habit I had a pretty firm grip on it so the phone stayed in my hands.
Be careful out there.

I am stealing all those fucking i-phones and throw them into the river. They are bloody anoying, fucking cell-phone crap.
No idea how I did it, but since I arrived here 8 months ago I have been wandering around town at night with my iphone4. I have been in all sorts of states and never yet never had it nicked. Lucky maybe?
Anyway I have just taken Feticheur's advice and thrown the bastard in the river just to make sure I never get it robbed of me like everybody else seems to.

I just bought a new dual-SIM (authentic) Nokia 101. 990baht/$31 here in Pattaya. I am informed it's the same price in PP. I am not, however, throwing my iPhone 4 in the river.
