Sure, KD. For $12 per month, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now. In addition, I took to risk to sign u p at the beginning to get the offer of the set-top box for free, whereas when (if) everything subsequently beds in, it will cost $50-60.
Two days after rigging up OneTV, I signed up to OpenNet and its 4MB deal. As a result, downloading is so damn fast that a HD version of ITV's Downton Abbey takes about 10 minutes. Consequently, the only channel I really watch on cable is ESPN with a bit of news (Al Jazeera and RTN - the Russian news channel) to supplement it. That's probably only about 12 hours per week in all. I'll give OneTV a few months to see if they are true to their word and provide a superior service to CCTV/PPCTV in time.

fair do's aia. time will tell. corries good these days. so is emmerdale. sad? yes i am.
LOL this would be worth it to me! That one woman's voice just about sends me over the edge in like 10 seconds. The whinny high pitched one.andyinasia wrote:$12 for the full package? Hey, I might go for it.Spigzy wrote:No, they are all accumulative - if you get Premier, you get the whole sodding lot! $12/m last I heard? Sounds good, but you need one set top box per TV, so if you've got a pile of tellies to support, might not work out all that great. I'm sure some hackers have made a widget for this though & put on ebay already.andyinasia wrote:So with One Premier you get news and sport, and NO Cambodian channels???
Can you have one TV on One and another on PPCTV? We just need one for the missus to enjoy her stupid dubbed voices in a sound-proofed room while I watch proper TV.

Actually, you're right - I'd overlooked the most crucial benefit of the deal - life without those voices that immediately induce murderous thoughts. Mind you, there are still occasions when she opens the bedroom door and I hear THAT voice, "Ma! Ma! Jouy bong! Jouy bong!"

I went into the OneTV shop last week. They couldn't tell me what channels they would be settling on, and still expect customers to sign a contract for 1 year in the interim. They said come back in a week (meaning today) and they will have finalised their channels... wishful thinking?
Dear AiA, Krisduncs and TPT,
I do understand your concern about the channels and that you want to see some clarity from our end.
There are reasons however that currently restrict me from openly publicizing what changes there will be in the near future, I hope that you can understand this. As stated before it is not our intention to keep changing channels in the long term, we are just trying to find the right balance of quality channel content during this initial phase. I will of course update you as soon as changes occur that may be of interest to you. We will also start to publicize the current fixed channel line-up and any changes via our Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/ONE-TV-Ca ... 1591316500
Regards,
One TV
Edit: Just added in the Facebook page link.

Well... I for one (and I imagine others) won't be signing any contract with OneTV until you have clarity on your channel selection. Probably good to tell your bosses that!
Dear All,
Just so you are aware BBC Knowledge and BBC Lifestyle are now being broadcast.
Regards,
One TV

Yes, started last week. I can definitely recommend BBC Knowledge (but can you fix the spelling on the TV list - not 'Khnowledge'!)OneTV wrote:Dear All,

By the way, what does the $ sign in the yellow square mean?

Kontinental Hockey League. Figured there might be a chance given that OneTV is Ruskie-owned.andyinasia wrote:Wassat? Khmer Hockey League??shizzle wrote:Any channels carrying KHL games?

Dammit, I was trying to be facetious, and I wasn't far off. There are 3 or 4 Russian channels hidden under listings like The History Channel. I only watch RTN, so i couldn't tell you.shizzle wrote:Kontinental Hockey League. Figured there might be a chance given that OneTV is Ruskie-owned.andyinasia wrote:Wassat?
