I believe they decided to launch a Kenny Rogers Roasters franchise instead of Pizza Hut.
No it is not a joke, they are actually going to do this very soon apparently.
Cambodia, Land of WTF?

Not necessarily a bad idea in a city overrun with pizza joints.
I'd never seen Kenny Rogers Roasters until I went to Philippines, but given people like barbecue meat here, it would seem to be a good idea. With so few people having much disposable income, you might as well set up something slightly different to what is already here.

I just happened to go to a Roasters (first time) in Surabaya recently. If the one here is anything like that, beware the lovely pictures of the food because you ain't going to be getting a plate that looks anything like it! The Indonesians are top flight when it comes to deceptive advertising in the food business, more so than anywhere else I have been. Having said that the food was pretty good if a bit pricey, and I would probably try it in PP if given the opportunity.

I've never seen a Kenny's & I don't know WTF 'broasting' is, but it's gotta be a better fit than Pizza Hut. Considering they want $5 in the market for a skinny, 1/2 kg, yardbird with the head & feet on - Kenny's might be a bargain.
Is it true they only play Kenny Rogers songs on loop or do they mix it up with the odd Dolly Parton duet?
Ambience is as important as the food sometimes.

Kenny Rogers has had no connection with the company since 1996 and these days its owned by one and the same Chinese Malay that is name checked in that three-year-old Post article at the top of this thread.

there is one basically next to the mcdonalds, which is always quite busy... the bk always empty, even though its a bit nicer there...
same for the bk at the end of sukhumvit in bkk... empty space... though nice...
most popular in asia are (still) the KFCs

I've been to the Burger King at the airport several times, and it's utter shit. I keep going back though.
