Best Pizza in Phnom Penh
Is Chez Dim gone? Their pizza was not bad, and was actually one of my favorites 5 years ago when there was a lot less selection. I was disappointed with the pizza at Da Luigi but it was obvious that many other patrons there that night were quite happy with it.
Does anywhere do a no-gluten pizza for sad bastards like me? I miss pizza.
Perhaps more of a CPN question.....

Though that of course is only my opinion, and yes everyone has different ideas about what makes the best pizza.Alley Cat Cafe wrote:Buscador wrote:

It was terrible.
p.s - Their pizza was not bad
Correct. From what KiR wrote, it sounds as if they are gone, which is why I was asking. I have never liked Martini, (not moralizing, I just don't like the place) but before Legend Cinema opened, I had a female Khmer friend who liked to go there to watch movies occasionally. We'd go maybe once a month with a couple of her friends, and I'd usually have a pepperoni pizza and a few Anchor beers. I was not too impressed with most of their other food, however.Alley Cat Cafe wrote:Yeah, I saw and corrected the error immediately upon seeing it quoted. For those of you who hate Chez Dim's pizza, where did you find noticeably better pizza 4-6 years ago? These days, with the pizza available from Larry's, Katie Perry, or Garage, I would never eat there, but those choices were not available then. My favorite was probably La Volpaia, and I seem to remember either Freebird or Cadillac having an OK pizza, but I wasn't really impressed with any pizza in town at that time. Maybe I just did not know the right places to go?

At least you recognize they belong in the same group (never tried garage so don't know about that one)
FWIW I think Scoozi in HCM is better than the Phnom Penh options. They do a 2 for 1 on Sundays. Trashy ambiance and poor drinks / non-pizza options however.
For personal taste reference I would pick Piccola Italia in Phnom Penh - at least it looks real.
I've never found really good pizza anywhere in Asia.

I believe Scoozi is a chain, isn't it? I've certainly eaten at one in both Bangkok and Jakarta before.picaroon wrote:FWIW I think Scoozi in HCM is better than the Phnom Penh options. They do a 2 for 1 on Sundays. Trashy ambiance and poor drinks / non-pizza options however.

I second the recommendation for Piccola Italia
From google I see that Scoozi is a chain in Thailand. I'm not sure that the HCM Scoozi is connected.scobienz wrote:

I've never seen another branch in Vietnam so doubt it. Frankly, for all its faults it feels substantially better than a chain venue.
But Piccola Italia wins on conviviality.

That certainly sums in up.... conviviality ! It's the go to place for those "in the know " it's overated. The pizza is not as good as Brooklyn ... Garage ... Larrys...or Aria D' Italia .picaroon wrote:

Pizza chains do sometimes work when done right , for example Pizza Express in the UK whose thin crust spinach and egg pizza I'd happily scoff right now.

Went to the Pizza Company for a meal once in Thailand. Bloody 'orrible. Cheese didnt taste like cheese to me. More like some plasticky goo. (i'm sure plasticky is a real word)
I remember an anchovie topped pizza from Dominoes being a thing of greatness years ago.

Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.
