Has anyone else tried this new place on 174 yet? I met PB for a few beers there last night, and have to say I was very very impressed. It's a small place but has been designed immaculately, and the owners have spared no expense in fitting it out - great bar area, fantastically comfortable seating, nice fixtures and fittings and even thoughtful little additions like power points on the customer side of the bar to charge your phones etc. They have a limited menu of western and Thai food.
It's a step up from the lower end places on Riverside, but with all the quality of a good hotel bar, without the prices. Draft beers are $1 all night.
Best of all is the staff. The owners are a Thai / Canadian couple, and very very welcoming.

Yes, went to the opening night and have been back two or three times since. Good luck to them.

The Phone charging is a nice touch. I am maniacal about the battery life on my phone, the phones battery extendin case, and my IPad. I Even keep track of the misses phone. I'm sick and I need help.

Yeah . . some nice limited seating outside in a kind of porch area. I assume you can smoke in that area. I'm not sure about inside. Playboy was with me and is a smoker, but I don't recall if he lit up or not.

On a completely unrelated note, I really liked Rehabb as a bar, good staff and service, was interested to chat to the Thai woman who owns and manages it, met a couple of interesting middle class Khmer businessmen who happened to be in for a couple of beers after work on a Friday evening - one of them was off to Birmingham for a holiday next month ?!!!?
