Is it possible that the new bearded hipster owners are part of the no doubt exceptionally tiny segment of the expat community that despises Khmer440? Are they renaming the place as part of an effort to remove the stain of association between Rehabb and Khmer440?

Too bad that they painted over it. They could have renamed it a very hipster-ish 'Rehabbitat For Humanity '

Nothing wrong with them giving it a new identity. The own it they can do whatever they want.
I always thought Rehabb was a strange name anyway.

It's not bullshit if that was a term of the sale contract, which would be inserted if the sellers wanted to retain rights to the name, perhaps to open another "Rehabb" bar in town.Joon wrote:"Forced by circumstances" is bullshit.Playboy wrote:They claim that they did not want to change the name, but are being forced to by circumstances

Man, that's a sad sight.Playboy wrote:
Interesting to watch the development of the thriving colony of beardies in Phnom Penh. I guess Bangkok's exploitable irony deposits are too low, or it is too expensive (or both) and Yangon is either too 'Real' or too expensive (or both).
Although man-bunned expeditionary forces have been increasingly dispatched to the latter, they haven't really established a foothold yet - save for small parcels of territory in the Golden Valley neighborhood.
However, their attempts to establish fair trade cereal bars in their own little Botany Bay have, to date, been thwarted by un-empowered local stakeholders of dubious capacity and a preponderance of for-profit white males of unchecked privilege.

1. What idiot would buy a personality driven bar without a 5 year, 100km non-compete clause?
2. Terms of sale enforceable in Cambodia .. you are indeed a funny man.
Note to self: Must be nice to morons.
