I'm sharing a crowd-funding video.
My son has been involved in training disabled people to play rugby for a few years now. There is a small national league in the UK, and 'his' team won that league last year.
There has been a large expansion in the take-up of the sport in the disabled community, and now there's to be a world championship. This is full-contact rugby, albeit with players that are in some way disabled.
I'm posting this here in the hope that some will share further on social media and spread the word of this crowd-funding a little farther.
Thanks for your time.
My son appears in the video at 1:09, if you're wondering... "and some players don't"
Please pass this along through your social media channels and help these guys out - they're doing a good job.
Cheers
C

Rugby players...
Well done your Son! Chuanght2u Please, please send the clip to TVNZ and NZRugbyUnion with a question, or not.
Does your rugby nation cater for Champs like these and are you able to send a team.? This will creat media attention in NZ. You will get a reply,.possible an edited clip on TV.
A recent article on Seven Sharp(TVNZ) highlighted a special needs Soccer team without a team to play.
Well, that media attention gained positive results, other groups involved.

Rugby's core values are passion, integrity, solidarity, discipline and respect both on and off the field. There is not another sport that comes near to it. Well done.

You're exactly right Bosco, except for every other team sport in the world. Be proud of your country's main sport but let's tone down the ridiculousness a bit .Bosco wrote:Rugby's core values are passion, integrity, solidarity, discipline and respect both on and off the field. Coaches around the world teach the above values you stated in pretty much every sport. Fuck golf.
Anyone who doesn't like Capitalism is a pathetic loser. God bless the USA and no place else.
You have clearly never followed a Superbowl season. I experienced my first one this year. It is fundamentally based on advertising revenue above all else. Deflating balls, cheating and other unscrupulous behaviour appears not to be punished but actually rewarded.DetroitMuscle wrote: You're exactly right Bosco, except for every other team sport in the world. Watch a season of the English Premiership football. You will see segregation of fans, racist and other abuse hurled from the stands and generally lots of work for the pollution local police force. Many of the players on the pitch dive, act, cheat and hurl fowl abuse at the referees during the matches.
Now watch a season of rugby, any league in the world, your call. When you have done that come back here and post with authority.
Oh and Rugby is not my country's main sport. It comes in fourth behind Gaelic football, hurling and soccer. I will not comment on the merits of the first two as you simply couldn't understand how important for our country's psyche they are unless you had lived there.
I thought we were discussing the innate integrity of the sport and its proponents, not nationalities.
My point is that to puff up any sport as a paragon of virtue and all that is good etc is a bit daft; they all have their finer points and they all have those who cheat like fuck.

Agreed. The don't cheat module doesn't seem to be taught at one of our member federations. Almost perfection is pretty good though.rebo wrote:One word: Pomscobienz wrote:Two words: Fake Blood.
