Nouvelle Portuguese but definitely not a small food big plate kind of place, this was a highlight of this trip and one of the more memorable meals I've had in Cambodia. Starters are $5+/-, three of which could be shared by two for a fine meal. Mains are $8-10 and portions substantial. Shrimp, squid, and octopus dishes were terrific. Cross the new bridge and take the second right about 100m. Will post some pics when I have a good connection.
Tertulia Kampot
The Portuguese certainly know their seafood - rode a bicycle Vigo to Huelva along the coast (ish) years ago.

This place was in the Koh Santepheap a few or more weeks ago.

Article complaining that the signage is purely written in a foreign language with no Khmer script (legally the Khmer script has to be twice the size of the English?) And that it's an insult to Khmer culture.
Seemed very odd to me at the time just calling them out for this common offense....my buisness for example has no Khmer on the (huge) signage. Last week when the advertising department came my wife just straight up refused to pay them...she even gave them a telling off for presuming that our buisness was foreign owned: "Anything foreigners can do we Khmers can do better!" (LOL)
Anyhow this Kampot place looks great. Good luck to 'em!

A thread worth bumping, I was there last week.
As jm wrote, generous portions, and overall very impressive. It looks like we made similar choices.
Octopus salad was as good as reported. Zesty, appetizing. Both house wines were Quinta da Murta: the white Bucelas evocatively soft-textured and with a beautiful minerally flavour. Bread could be better (crustier).
Carne de porco a Alentejana: succulent pork stew with clams in a tangy garlic broth. The red Murta from touriga nacional and syrah bursting with fruit and vigour. All service was impeccable, including timing and temperatures of dishes and wines.
With leite creme and a bica of coffee $25. They offer a range of ports and aguardentes, both chef and manager know their stuff.
This place deserves support. And will need it.

I don't know if you're serious but I think Scobie should. (Pay him for weekly reviews, I mean).Londo wrote:".. evocatively soft-textured and with a beautiful minerally flavour."
