Plenty of people wear a tie including myself. I generally have a quick inspection of what the attire is for the patrons of a bar before even considering entry. No desire to interact with the lowly t-shirt crowd.alanclarke72 wrote:Wear a tie in Larrys? WTF? Nobody wears a tie in offices here, let alone in some crappy pseudo girlie bar with delusions of grandeur because Blanchard Jones drinks there.Phuket2006 wrote:Larrys for the afterwork crowd, but wear a tie,
In pp i like lonestar, good food and conversation. Pickled parrot one of the few open 24/7

And I recommend Rehabb as it attracts a crowd of a higher class which of course includes myself.

Well I can't say I've ever seen anyone wear a tie in Larry's. I suspect Phuket was either talking out of his arse or being ironic.

You don't even check if they have work-permits?GMJS-440 wrote:I generally have a quick inspection of what the attire is for the patrons of a bar before even considering entry.
Have you no standards?

There's a hostess bar about a block or two down from Cathouse which is great. It's owned by a French dude in an old colonial building. They have 23-year-old Ron Zacapa Rum for $3! Both are a much nicer setup than AB. A new spot that just opened up is called Est Bar next to Nova. A buddy of mine manages it so it should be solid. La Casa del Habano is a great spot to unwind and have a smoke before you head out. I can go on and on. Botton line, no matter how old you are, PP is a fun town to explore
Questions:
A block or 2 down from Cathouse in which direction? Does it have a name? Sounds interesting
Where is La Casa del Habano ???
Cheers

Best bar for a visitor is walkabout.
Sleazers will love it.
Xtians and white birds will love it as it will fulfil their beliefs about pp.
Win win.

Oh fuck off. Walkabout, when I went in there last year had somehow managed to be even dirtier and more decrepit than it was when I semi-regularly went there during the time I lived in an unfortunately nearby address in 2007, the place certainly hadn't been cleaned since then...

And I recommend Rehabb as it attracts a crowd of a higher class which of course includes myself.
Ditto.
OML is a patron of Rehabb when in town.
Rehab is for the thinking imbiber.
My Khmer female friends also like coming there with me and feel welcome and comfortable there.

Le Cyrcee Club #13 Street 49. Walk straight down (Pasture Street) 2 blocks, make a left (130), then make your first right onto 49th street it's on the right hand side.
Where is La Casa del Habano ???
It's located in the parking lot of the Himawari Hotel. If you're you're facing the Himawari Hotel, it's on the left-hand side. There's a tiny commercial center in the parking lot. La Casa del Habano is the last store closest to the river. 313 Sisowath Quay.
Cheers
