The old Walkabout building would be a good location.

They could re-open the Whale n' Hoe(ters) balcony bar.

I was.about to say that this.would be the closest thing PP would have to a stripper bar...but after seeing the dozen stripper poles in AF bar and the girls grinding on a pole upstairs at the office a few nights back...

I went to the one in Bangkok but didn't quite get it. Why go to Hooters in the first place? Food is alright but nothing special, and if you're going there to see women...well... you should get your head checked. I don't understand how the concept can survive in the region. Is it because it's foreign and new?

I was told that this 104 location is owned by a local police chief. He wants to rent it but there were restrictions on what renovations could be done inside. It has a nice marble interior upstairs and he didn't want that to be destroyed too much. But it wasn't really suitable as a bar in its current layout, so some construction work would be necessary.

I know a few ladies with the right...um...qualifications...for employment there that could trawl for a husband. They don't want to work in a hostess bar, but want high volume access to barang with money.

What about the fact that Hooters girls wear really skimpy outfits and dance around from time to time?

Do you think they've had meetings with some high ranking police guys and said "Here's how our staff will dress" and the police guys said "No, problem"? Or are they taking a risk here of being shut down on day one?

I frequented the hooters fake #2 many moons ago.

I don't see how the it will work if it's really going to be that expensive as others have implied about other locations in the region. I actually like to occasionally go to the ones back home for the food, girls were nice but except for it being tight it was never skimpy, they wear flesh colored leggings and more.

They seem to be doing OK in the region, they have restaurants in Bangkok (2), Pattaya, Phuket, and their website references plans to open in Khon Kaen, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai, and on Khao San Road.

Phnom Penh is changing and I guess they are banking on their being enough tourists and residents who are willing to pay a bit more for the professionally run, fun yet wholesome experience they plan to offer.

I passed the one in soi4 a few days before they were to open for first time. It seemed the girls all had to do some kind of synchronised dance through the restaurant, and they were praticing that with a big 'opening soon' sign blocking the entrance steps. It's all so open plan there. But yes, they all seemed to be 'highly qualified'.

When Golden Bar turned into Hooters it went from being the busiest to the quietest bar on Soi 4.

Ugh, so true about us Americans. I however, avoid Hooters everywhere like the plague because they suck. Never enjoyed the food.
