All set. Interesting season, will Leicester continue? The Has Been One and Pep Gladioli , the genius that is Klopp's signings, Chelsea are quiet so far, and of course Arsenal who have to be quiet in case they wake Arsene up.
Get in Vardy, c'mon Leicester!

Is anyone else starting with both Aguero AND Zlatan? It's really tough to pack both into one team - quarter of the squad budget on two players
I just can't help but think Zlatan is going to make an impression despite an aging body, his goalscoring (and assist) stats are world class in any league, not just the two horse race league with noddy defending... Aguero is as close to a nailed on Fantasy footy squad choice as there is. If you neglect either and they start out of the blocks fast then you've got one heck of a rejig to make to bring them in before their value goes through the roof. Conversely if Hazard or another flop from last season suddenly revives some form, it should be easy enough to replace a misfiring Aguero/Zlatan to accommodate after a week or two.
But this leaves me without Kane, Mahrez, Vardy and some other 2015/16 season gold - simply can't afford them. Still rethinking & juggling my GW1 line up, but I'm getting pretty close to taking the plunge and going double-bubble up front on the big boys.
Finally, I don't know why I do this every year, but I currently have an Arsenal man in my squad ... why do I do this to myself?!!

Pogba finally signing has to be another positive for Zlatan's potential. I'm going budget goalies and defence to accommodate both. Quite a few interesting transfers coming through that causes a rethink, Stones, Williams and Ayew. I had Ayew with Swansea but fancy him more at West Ham than donkey Carroll. Liverpool's the team I can't work out, I'm a big fan of Wijnaldum given the points he accrued on a crap Newcastle set up but Klopp seems to attract more midfielders than Arsenal so might hold off to see what formation he settles on.

Final reminder to join the K440 league AND get your team in shape before the season finally kicks off!
(I've kept by Arsenal man just to make sure they get off to a really bad start!)

Bugger - five of my 1st team scored goals ... all three of my subs scored!!
Only mistake so far was to put in Bolasie ahead of Coutinho - I just clocked Pardew's interview about him after the transfer deadline and knew he wouldn't start, but the sod came on for a few minutes (1pt) and got booked (-1pt) :/ Coutinho sitting there with 15 fat juicy points on my bench, I can only hope Will.i.an doesn't get picked tonight. Got him and Azpilililillliliicuta to come, which can only mean an Andy Carroll hat-trick?! I'm happy either way

Quick reminder that GW2 kicks off tonight UK time, you've got until about 19:00 Cambo time if my maths is correct to make transfers.
I think I'm sticking with my GW1 line up, need to see if the new Man U boy makes an appearance worthy of consideration, or if it'll be a Pog's dinner
I'll need two transfers to sort out any Aguero/Zlatan + MF switches, so saving one up!

So, here we are - GW3 all done and now the break in EPL for internationals, time to draw a breath and take stock!
Reasonably happy with my squad so far, which is troublesome as I figured from experience last season I'd be wildcarding GW4 or 5, but that might not be necessary depending on international injuries. A good position to be in, but really bloody annoyed that whilst trying out the new FPL mobile app (which is very good this season btw), that I left Bolasie (3pt x2) as my captain - d'oh!! Probably got me an extra two points though as my frontline men all scored just 2pts a piece, and the star of my team for the week Will.i.an was listed as a doubt for the easy Burnley game, so I wouldn't have picked him either.
Glad I went with both Zlatan and Aguero for starters despite a blank GW3 - and others have come to the party for the most part. My biggest challenges at this stage are:
- Naughton; I only really wanted him GW1, Swansea are going to be in a relegation scrap methinks and he was just a decent budget DF for GW1 only.
- Chambers; fuck off Arsene. Again.
- Getting Hazard in somehow - Conte has him playing like he was a couple of season's back, and that's dangerous to not have in your team methinks. But with the big two up front, a luxury midfielder is hard to afford. Decisions, decisions.
From what I've seen so far, Man Utd would be my favourites for the title - ponderous at times, but there's a confidence and swagger about them not seen since the days of Fergie - and a Fergie time 90+ winner just to cap it off. Man City were excellent last night 1st half vs my Hammers, but in all honesty Bilic got his tactics wrong for starters (3 central defenders including donkey Collins, Antonio the winger playing totally out of position, bla bla). Anyway, Sheikteh do look good under Pep, no doubt. The third contenders would be Chelski, for me defences win titles, and that Chelski back line has been and done it before, and with Hazard firing on all cylinders and Costa still annoying the hell out of everyone yet scoring, they're right up there too.
Gut feeling is this is going to be a 'normal' EPL season after last season's weird upsets - I think I'll be looking to fill my squad with players from those big three predominantly, with a smattering of toffees and spuds and budget specials, fixtures depending.
Any other teams/players on folks radars at this early stage?

Brought Sterling in on my wildcard this week and it turned out to be a great differential. What an attacking line up City have, Aguero, Nolito, Sterling , Silva and De Bruyne. I like the look of Everton under Koeman already and have Holgate and Barkley in for a potentially good run of fixtures. Interesting captain dilemma next gameweek with Aguero and Ibra facing off against each other. West Ham's fixtures look good but Bilic keeps signing players and I've lost track of who's who.

My team is pish - again. Went with a strong Belgian influence. Benteke and Lukaku up front, de Bruyne in midfield.
I'm loyal to my players though... If I don't believe in them then no one will.
Glad to see Aguero has a 3 game ban!
Going to try to work out how to get more Chelsea players in... No European football, good coach - they will be strong, but does Conte rotate players?

What do fellow FPL jousters think of Jurgen Klopp's comments:
"Everyone is asking why England is not too successful in big tournaments.
"Ask what other big countries are doing at this time - they have their legs on the sofa and are watching English football."
He does have a point, doesn't he?
Back on topic, I've given the captain's armband to Christian Benteke - reckon he will be a fruitful target man (a la Peter Withe from glory days of yore) against a West Ham defence that looks like a cullendar made of Emmental cheese. (Sorry, Spigzy!)
Next Day
What a swizz that was! Minus 2 points on the captain! I'm a chump.
I say, don't people post on this thread anymore? Time was, it used to be a place for crazy forecasts, daft banter & generally admitting that we were wrong (as was the case with my choices). But now?
