Best restaurant coffee in Phnom Penh
I personally like Hagar's, was disappointed with the choice and taste at Intercontinental.
Amazes me that some places spend a lot of money on a machine and then have absolutely no qualms about buying crappy grounds/beans
Since Trung Nguyen packaged grounds disappeared, finding a decent brew has become hit and miss.
Before Playboy jumps in, I'm talking about hot coffee.
Any recommendations?

Your thread title specifies "restaurant coffee".
Why 'restaurant' ??
Are you thinking of a nice evening out or something ??
Specifically about coffee served in restaurants, or what ??

You are aware the Hagar is a Christian NGO founded by a Swiss lawyer?
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Thankfully everyone has different taste, and I tend to just have an espresso at home from my own little machine, but when out & about in town mine would be:
Metro (all 3 restaurants)
La Croisette (Riverside)
Felix Cafe (st. 294 - labels itself as a coffee shop but also has breakfast/lunch/etc)
Java (both)
That said, when I'll tend to have a cappuccino when in a restaurant - Cambodia doesn't lend itself to espresso where the aim is usually just to get a caffeine hit/quick chat and get on with your day. Speed just isn't a Khmer thing ... unless it is 1am and drunk behind the wheel/handlebars.

I think he has now moved on from Hagar, i heard he was appointed Swiss ambassador in Cambodia.Lucky Lucan wrote:You are aware the Hagar is a Christian NGO founded by a Swiss lawyer?
The ambassador part may or may not be accurate - he does have a few bob though, his house is pretty impressive.

I'm guessing you're referring to the crowd that Java attracts? Fair point - they've got good coffee and food though...Stagger Lee wrote:^^ Java ??
