Oh man, without even a hint of koan kat in there too. There will be uber triggering. Please camera phone and post the inevitable debacle - LTO style.Playboy wrote:I plan on taking my 14 year old daughter out for the night, just the two of us.
Which restaurants will have the highest proportion of bitter, angry, single, white women who work for NGOs, and will leap to the wrong conclusion and get 'triggered' can you recommend ??
P.S. said daughter can eat any kind of western foods, blue cheese and is a bit of a seafood snob - I have spoilt her rotten
Good restaurant for Valentine's Day?

I was in Friends restaurant last week and was really pleased with my food.
It's kind of Khmer/western fusion. I had a scotch egg made with a fertilised duck egg for starter. Actually very tasty.
It's not a particularly romantic place - can get very noisy but the food is good and probably could get food there which will please NKOTB and the very lovely missus.
It's pretty affordable too - perhaps significant as NKOTB may be scrimping on cost due to escalating costs on provincial Trump Towers.

I did the smart thing and took my wife out for dinner Saturday, allowing me to rest easy when the day of madness arrives.
Drinks at Raffles followed by a low key but pleasant dinner at Chez Gaston. Escargot, followed by steaks, with ample beer, wine and a couple of congacs for around 60 bucks.

Took her to Casablanca for Valentine's Day lunch. Place is on the second floor, entrance on a side street, with no restaurant signs anywhere. Even with google maps, missed it twice and had to ask for directions. Owner was suprised that we showed up, since we clearly weren't regulars. Had the entire restaurant to ourselves. As for the food...
It's not Mediterranean. Single menu. Appetizers, main course, dessert. Appetizers consisted of large bowls. Beets, potato salad, cucumber salad, 2 stewed/puréed, items, couldn't recognize and baguettes. Mains were beef with mashed potatoes and duck. But portions, not the scrawny cow variety. Both topped with rich sauces. Dessert was diced fruit - papaya, watermelon, apple, topped with strawberry ice cream. We both had fruit juice to drink - carrot, papaya, other items.
Thoughts. Different. Really different. Like the first timeI had tandoori pizza. Nothing heavily sweet, salty, or spicy. Fancy service. Very dense western food.
Made up for it later. Took her boss and her to Bopha Titanic for dinner. Had full on Khmer. OD's ex showed up with her friends. After we all went on a river cruise, then to oyster seafood house for more food.
Now she's sick.
