This season gets underway today with matches in PP, Svay Rieng, and Seam Reap [this weeks fixtures below].
The Kingdom's biggest star Chan Vathanaka has gone to the Japanese 3rd Division but some decent Khmer and also foreign players (Brazilian Maycon and Japanese Tomoki at Boueng Ket Angkor; South African Booysen at Phnom Penh Crown) in the league. With the National Teams fortunes improving and playing some decent football in the recent Suzuki Cup in Myanmar it could be an entertaining season.
Match of Round 1 at the Olympic Stadium tonight when last seasons top two teams - champions Boung Ket and surprise runners up Army meet. Boeung Ket won the 'charity shield' match up between the two last weekend 3-0 and Maycon looked pretty good setting up two of the goals for the captain Laboravy. Army, in a deal presumably based on the long-standing relationship between the Kingdom and the Dictatorship, have 3 North Korean internationals in their team including the strong striker Choe Myong-ho.

Match of round 1 at Olympic stadium tonight, bka v army has been postponed. The match will now be played on the 1st of March. Its nice to see the footie get a mention but please try to post the correct information.
Thanks for the info on the postponed match; without it I would have been at an empty Olympic Stadium last night wondering where everyone was.
Of the two matches that were played yesterday Africans scored 6 of the 7 goals including 4 for Rwandan international Kipson as NagaWorld beat Electricite du Cambodge (casinos clearly more profitable for football squad building then small gauging of Barang on their electricity bills).
Another preview of the new season from Khmer Times (which largely seems to avoid plagiarism) here: http://www.khmertimeskh.com/news/35535/ ... ain-title/

You are welcome but as I said please try not to post any details which you are not sure off as there is already enough misleading information on the internet regarding the Metfone League 1 ( not Premier League ) . Good for you for trying to raise the level of interest in club football in Cambodia but with 130-odd views in 24 hours on this forum the expression flogging a dead horse comes to mind.
