He was spotted earlier at Ballsack being a right hipster cunt.LexusSchmexus wrote:So you ran into Ricecakes then?

Phnom Penh ends for me at Sihanouk Boulevard, going further south is the equivalent of going south of the Mason Dixon line If they have really good Bordeaux wines at a better price than Bouchon, maybe I should mount an expedition sometime
There's a container cafe in SHV down Opram street, just up from Don Bosco college. Not seen any Hipsters there just cool young Khmer all riding Scoopys and fiddling with iphones, oh and two fat barang.
Saw a hipster douche today doing a type of Yoga on the beach at Otres. It was more stretching but in a really creepy slow way. He had to do it right in front of the restaurant area so everyone could see him of course. I was told he was selling beads and necklaces the other day.
Makes me SO MAD!

Meo Den, careful with comments re "south of the Mason Dixon line", there's a few of us rebs down here that don't take kindly to damn yankees. Of course, if you're Australian I don't know if we would align with northerners or southerners.

I used the analogy just to illustrate a mindset divide if you like. I think just as the mason Dixon line divided the Confederacy / Union values and mindset, so does the Sihanouk Boulevard appear to divide two mindsets. I was not privileging either half or suggesting there was some comparison to be made, other than that there appear to be two groups of people that appear different, and that either group may have strong views on the other. If that makes senseGB8 wrote:Meo Den, careful with comments re "south of the Mason Dixon line", there's a few of us rebs down here that don't take kindly to damn yankees. So, is that Riverside/St 51 vs. BBK1 and Russian market?Mèo Đen wrote:I used the analogy just to illustrate a mindset divide if you like. I don't think there's such a divide though. (This could be an interesting discussion about neighbors / frames of thought, etc, but in a separate thread perhaps.)
The divide for most expats is quite simple?:
Anything west of Monivong (except the airport) - Dragons
Anything north of Russian Boulevard - Crocodiles
Anything east of the Tonle Sap - Sharks
Anything south of Mao Tse Tung (except TTP market) - Zombies
BKK1 - Zion (a la Matrix Reloaded)
