Uber launches in Cambodia with a killer promotion
I missed most of these new service, but took jr to see my old landlord at the weekend. Got a passap car from pp thmey to the riverside and had change from $6. The tuk tuks would usually start at $12 and go down to $7-8.
Massive stalker
Yes, the rates vary per market. In Cambodia, uber paid more per fare than grab and many drivers preferred uber as they didn't get as many Chinese passengers. At least once a week a driver complains about Chinese passengers to me unasked, usually about smoking in the vehicle.epidemiks wrote:She said more per fare.ReasonstobefearfulP3 wrote:Do you mean because she had more fares? A bangkok driver I used a fortnight ago that drove for both hated Uber - mostly foreigners that would argue, challenge fares, and just act weird in the back of her car, whereas Grab rides were mostly asian. Grab paid significantly more, for her

Yeah, you can get a car for less than the price of a tuk tuk, even with a $1 tip they are cheaper and you don't have to haggle with some idiot who thinks that because he hasn't had a fare all day you owe him the short-fall.pedros wrote:I missed most of these new service, but took jr to see my old landlord at the weekend. Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Got the same email from Thailand this morning. Just installed the Grab app and added card details, all pretty easy. The main advantage for me that Grab and previously Uber have over the others is the card payment option, making for cashless transactions. No more BS with the drivers, no worrying about having small money or if the driver has change.
