Did you ever put the original promo code? As far as I know, it doesn't work without it untill they launch officially.

I suspect so.

I had an existing account and, at the time, didn't see the point of entering promo codes when no vehicles were available.

I am going to revert until there is no choice but to take car. More risky I guess but more convenient

Uber drivers started charging me earlier this week - genuinely, I saw the cash figure on their phone and it also eventually showed up on mine. Then they started being free again and then yesterday I received the message about charges applying from 11.55pm. So now I am getting the 50% discount for a while. Judging by the 50% fares I am paying (for fairly short journeys) I think Uber will be more expensive than Exnet and Itsumo.
I am also finding it can take a long time for the app to work. I often have to restart it. I rarely had any such problems with Exnet or Itsumo. So the way it is looking now, I will move away from Uber once the free and discounted rides finish.
I find 711 tuktuks good for daytime short rides. Example today Psar Thmei to St 172 (Wat Ounalom) 3000 riel, great driver and really quick. Those Indian tuktuks really move.

When you say drivers started charging you do you mean that you pay cash? My Uber account is linked to a credit card I assumed my fares would just be charged to the card like normal.

Yes I pay cash. I have not given uber my card number and neither will I, at least until I feel the system will work properly in Cambodia.

OK. I just took a trip from the riverside to the airport. Like many of the Ubers I have gotten in Phnom Penh, it was an actual taxi.

The guy turned on the meter when we started the ride, I asked why, he said "Oh, you want Uber" and then turned it off.

On arrival at the airport a swift 28 minutes later, his app was telling him I owed $7.07.

I simultaneously got an email from Uber saying my card had been charged. I was charged $2.12 due to discounted rate.

He called a few numbers while I stood around waiting and then agreed I didn't owe anything.

Good luck with that.. They do have your CC#, right.
Of course it can be challenged with your bank but why bother with the wank?

I installed this Uber thing on my app getting a taxi from Kampong cham to the Pochentong airport, there was a CAPTCHA question "are you a friend with bigphatt?" Accidentally I clicked yes and the taxi never turns up.

We were told to be patient as the discount promotion is new for the drivers

I tried this service and here is my review.

Got a regular ride with iTsumo - the Cambodia Taxi. Outstanding service I possibly could say. Quite...

This sounds good, but does anyone think this will really help businesses? Agents will still need to be used and will still charge the same, right?
