That's surprising, I always had you down as a real party animal.Starving Pelican wrote:
Are you 30 yet? Since I turned 30 I rarely go out past 1 or 2, unless I'm on holiday somewhere.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

Not surprising at all, given someone once said I look like "one of those squeaky-clean Mormons around town."Lucky Lucan wrote:That's surprising, I always had you down as a real party animal.Starving Pelican wrote:

It is the short trousers and schoolboy cap that you always wear that does itStarving Pelican wrote:Not surprising at all, given someone once said I look like "one of those squeaky-clean Mormons around town."Lucky Lucan wrote:That's surprising, I always had you down as a real party animal.Starving Pelican wrote:

"In the 90s, travel used to be all about getting in the middle of the local culture, man. Drinking ABC Stout and wearing kramas. Now it's all about banana pancakes and fake Ray-Bans!"
You talking bout the speakeasy down in the village that was round during prohibition? The putz redid it with a row of taps and had his Labs, which were cute. That place?GMJS-440 wrote:I used to be similar, every weekend closing the Manhattan bars at 4 am and finding a place to keep going. Used to do Hookah at 5 am sometimes, or the hidden speakeasy. I was known amongst my peers as the heavy drinker. I had different groups of friends for different styles of drunkenness. Had 2 hot chicks for VIP NYC clubbing. My lawyer and accounting friends for lounges, wine bars. My hometown friends for rock bands and booze nights.
I regularly blacked out on the train home. Conductor told me to consider a life change.
I grew tired of it, but not until in my 30s. Now I may drink earlier and sleep earlier. I like it, but couldn't imagine it when I was younger.
Please don't tell my momma I work in a oil patch. She think's I'm a piano player in a ho house.

Other than full on girly/hostess bars, what bars are open from 2am to 7am (or until 4am if 7am is pushing it)?
Black Cat on 51/130 street is open 24/7 Whether you would class it as a hostess bar is contentious . The outside mini beer garden area would be ok and you would be relatively unmolested, to the point of having extreme difficulty getting a drink.

Black Cat. Isn't it on the 172/51 corner, across from Shanghai? Originally called Bar 51 or 51 Bar or something like that, opened by a young Kiwi tweaker lad. He used to taze non-customers who parked in front of his bar. Top bloke.
I am sooooo very sorry if you can't understand or appreciate my sarcastic facetiousness.
Originally bar 51 wannit?
Opened by a young French tweaker.
I still like it.
Edit: he kept trying to steal my gorgeous Viet paramour of the time. Think he offered her 100 dollah a month to live in.
