Malt vinegar is a bit hard to find. I don't know what they mean about lemons, maybe they have yellow ones?

Some thing you won't find in many British chip shops is vinegar . Most chip shops just have some brown coloured acid for you to put on to your chips, the Muslims don't like malt vinegar because of the alcohol content. So now everyone has to put up. Ps I've bought, in my day malt vinegar at lucky's.

Tbf to Fred chip most shops in the UK no longer sell proper malt vinegar (I don't think it has anything to do with muslims). They sell "non-brewed condiment" which tastes the same as malt vinegar but is just flavoured, coloured water. You can go anywhere you like as each place with fish and chips has a small blackboard proudly stating "the best fish & chips in Phnom Penh", which means they must all be the same quality.

Not much mention about what the fish actually is or what it tastes like. Such lack of detail is not very convincing. I did see the description 'cod' somewhere.

Yes, you're very correct. It has nothing to do with it being cheaper to buy, taking less time to make, being able to purchase it in concentrated form, easier to transport and store, gluten free, or that it stays in date much longer.
