Masala Dosa Street Kitchen
I wasn't joking when I mentioned that I was going to post about a new vegan restaurant, and I'm not joking either when I say that even meat eating, hippy hating disgruntled expats will enjoy a lunch at this place.
Masala Dosa Street Kitchen has opened up on Sothearos Blvd, just a few doors south of Wat Ounalom (this is the street coming up from the Royal Palace behind the FCC). It is a small shop house setting, with open doors and cooking taking place in the entry way. It is an all vegan Indian restaurant, specializing in dosas (of course).
I stopped in on Friday for their $3.85 lunch deal. It was just the right amount of food for a lunch, and they offer a different deal from Tuesdays - Fridays. The lunch deal is separate from their extensive dosa menu, where prices range from $2 - $4.

Although to be fair, Indian food is in its own category, and should not be used as part of the vegan/veggie argument - certainly not with an Empire Loving Englishman - long live the curry
I have actually been meaning to give this place a try for a few weeks now, I keep driving past, but have yet to see a customer in there.

Got excited for a vegan mate in the office for a minute, then recalled he doesn't eat garlic either ... doh!

My Indian neighbor would cook great Masala Dosa’s. Unfortunately, he died of a heart attack whilst eating one.
He always had a dodgy Tikka.

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

That food looks great and the menu is enticing.
They can fuck off with that social awareness admonishment at the bottom, though. When I'm eating I don't want to be told about a child dying every five dances as a result of hunger..

They say they charge for wasted food. Isn't that what usually happens in restaurants? You pay for what you order, whether eaten or not?bipolar bear wrote:That food looks great and the menu is enticing.

Imagine if they tried to charge you twice for half an uneaten dosa.
They'd be wearing it.

Maybe we've been doing restaurants wrong all these years? Maybe what we are supposed to do with the bill is pro-rata the menu cost depending on amount consumed and it's one of those things the F&B industry has kept quiet about?the_purple_turtle wrote:They say they charge for wasted food. Next time I eat out I'll do that. If I consume 3/4 of the food, I'll knock off 25% from the bill and they can send the food I don't eat to those children about to start that fifth dance that will apparently kill them of hunger.
They can also take their tom yum FyUsh1on dosa, roll it and push it far up their rectums. Is there a single wobbly head person working there?
I shall continue to enjoy my vegan food at Dosa Corner and Taste Budz when the yen takes me.
