Why are the gods such vicious cunts?
Where is the god of tits and wine?

In the mid-90's there was a popular bar in a very nice villa a couple blocks behind the Palace, I think St 240. I think it had a French sounding name and perhaps the wife was French. Anyone remember the name?
I think it closed at least a year after the Rock Hard Cafe but before the No Problem. Some vague memory they(or maybe just the husband?) opened a smaller bar somewhere behind Lucky Market on 278? Maybe he helped manage the FCC too?
Also, see on Google Earth the new Hotel (Hyat?) now integrated with the No Problem looks mostly built. However, from above, the lovely front portico, looks enlarged and squared off. They had the $ and good sense to keep the villa and portico, and a year ago when I peeped through the construction fencing they seemed intent on keeping the original, but now I'm not sure. Could anyone please get a picture of what it looks like at the moment? (I'm stuck overseas at the moment, and don't always get down to PP in any case.)
(Though the No Problem pool table was bigger and grander than those at the FCC and the Heart, it wasn't a great table. Nevertheless, the building/garden is exquisite and I had some good memories there, including bumping into a women I'd first crossed treking paths with just before hiking up Gokyo Ri, Nepal, last day of 1993. One of those seemingly improbable meet ups common enough on the backpacker trail. We shot pool at No Problem, got on, and stayed friends for a few years, while she taught at ACE when it was near the Japanese Bridge. It never progressed beyond friendship, them Khmer girls was jest too damn beguiling.)
