The original Crew, included JM, a partner, Morticia and a few other girls, then The Australian Pirate Era, followed by the British Punk Era (where the warlock helped out), now the Canadian.

Ok. I confuse those two eras as I was not up to riverside much in that period, I was over at Rehab more often.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 7:14 pmincorrect the warlock never helped out under the Brit he was solely there under the Australian pirate who purchased off JM and partnerFelgerkarb wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 2:56 pmHe had no part of the bar other than drinks there now and then after it was sold.Khartoum wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 4:07 amGuest may be thinking of Brunt

I'm pretty sure Brad was a regular customer towards the end of the time JM and Brunt owned Garage.
He's in a photo I'd taken in early March of 2014. While the photo was not taken at Garage, I'd known him for a little while at that time the photo was taken, and I met him at Garage.

The pirates tenure was an unexpected highlight in Garage history. I had some good times there in that period, also on the boat.
Skinny pom was alright when he wasn't whinging too much.
The current owner is a good guy, but I don't like that you can't request or change the music.

Noticed one former owner Simon calling out Khmer440 as a bunch of freaks in a FB post. Didn’t seem to be in an endearing way, can’t argue with him either.

Good luck to Simon on his new venture in Kampot. Will stop in when I am passing through.
Proud freak myself....

Simon flipping the Bird Well he’s not wrong.
He was subject to a lot of undeserved drama when he had Garage. That psycho ice head Elsa and his bar manager threatening to bottle Gonk springs to mind. Yet I’d be surprised if anybody had one bad thing to say about Simon. I hope he’s doing well in Kampot.

Now I'm a Warlock? I've been called worse.
The original owners Jeff and Brunt were burning out in the last year or so that before they sold the place. I helped out with the music. I stayed on after they sold the bar and I stayed on until Simon bought it. Simon was not really a good fit with the place, all of fhe regulars moved on to other places and I moved on as well as my wife who was working there as well. It was fun while it lasted.
Yes, the music I played was eclectic -- you could go any place in town to hear the same fifty songs over and over and over. Garage had a very large music library that was built up by Jeff over the years. I just played what was there. Later I was part of the Thursday's Tales art gallery on ST118 together with Ruben which ran for two years, every thursday night. I had kept the music within the boundries of western rock at Garage -- but at 118 I was free to play a lot of music from around Asia and short documentaries. It wasn't a bar and the beer was free, so we could play what we wanted. It too was fun while it lasted.

I heard that Thursday Tales moved to The Exchange. How is that going?

k440, something to do when you're pissed.
