Battambang - At the Heart of the Tribes
Does anyone know of a book titled "Battambang - At the Heart of the Tribes"? Mind you, this may not be the actual title, as I heard it translated from Khmer to French, and then into English. I'm not sure if it's only written in Khmer, or there may be a French version (and possibly English?). Someone (A Khmer that speaks French but not English) referenced it when they heard a last name, recognizing it as from a family in Battambang because of the book. Would like to get my hands on a copy (in whichever language I can). Any ideas?
It sounded interesting, so I took a brief look in the worldcat database without success -- worldcat being a massive database of library holdings. You might have more luck.

I've never heard of that book, not sure what they mean by tribes. The only one on my shelves on the topic is "Battambang during the time of the Lord Governor" by Tauch Chhuong. There are some interesting papers about Battambang's role in trade between Siam and the hinterlands of Cambodia in the 18th/19th centuries. I'll post some links later if anyone is interested.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
