http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-35670529Three British tourists have been found dead near some waterfalls in Vietnam.
It was not immediately clear how the tourists - reported to be two women aged 19 and 25, and a man - had died.
Local news reports said police believed the visitors might have slipped while exploring the Datanla waterfalls.
Their bodies were found downstream from the falls, in Lam Dong province, which are a popular site with Western visitors. A local man has been questioned by police.
Steep slope
Emergency workers had climbed down a steep slope to recover the bodies, which were found wearing life jackets, the local reports said.
Deputy director of the tourist company which manages the falls, Vo Anh Tan, said visitors usually started at the top of the tiered waterfalls.
The Foreign Office said: "We are in contact with local authorities in Ho Chi Minh City, following an incident near Da Lat, Vietnam."
Da Lat is the capital of Lam Dong province, in the country's Central Highlands.

Indeed. Been bird watching in the area many times and do not understand how 3 people could plunge to death. I sincerely hope no "selfie" was involved....Joon wrote:Such a senseless way to go. RIP.

That is a possibility. I did the rollercoaster thingy they have there and it was totally unsafe. The set-up is manual, they let the cars go on as they seem fit. Me and my friend were barreling down without realizing we had another car in front of us with Vietnamese girls that were standing on the brakes the whole way down. We rear-ended them pretty hard and it was pure luck no one got injured. I know of at least one fatality there.Jacked Camry wrote:Something about ziplining using sub-standard equipment and setup...

http://tuoitrenews.vn/society/33431/3-f ... ams-da-latThree foreign tourists have been confirmed dead in a fatal zip line accident at a tourist attraction in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Friday.
They included a man and two women, police said, adding that the trio had been using a zip line to cross the Datanla waterfall in the provincial capital of Da Lat in the early afternoon.
Immigration officers said they were all British.
Police have managed to retrieve the bodies of two of the victims, and are still searching for the last one.
The accident happened at the Datanla tourist area, managed by the Dalat Tourist Co.
But the deceased were taken to the area by another tour operator, Dam Me Co., according to Vo Anh Tan, deputy director of Dalat Tourist.
“Dam Me Co. did not buy tickets for using the zip line, so the tourists were not provided with the proper equipment for the adventure game by Dalat Tourist,” Tan underlined.
Tan said the safety equipment used for the game was imported from Europe and is given to all tourists who buy entrance tickets.
“Some companies, like Dam Me, have dodged the admission fees and let their guests play the game, which might have led to today’s accident,” he said.
“The incident is beyond our supervision, but we are still trying to help deal with this tragedy.”
The Datanla waterfall sits in the middle of the Prenn mountain pass, some 5km from the heart of Da Lat, a romantic resort city.
It is a well-known destination for adventure game lovers.

Same old, same old: some dodgy tour operator bypasses the official channels with the tacit approval of the authorities. That is, until something goes wrong.

How do all three die? were they all on the thing at the same time or was it that they all slipped at the same time?
