Vietnam : Amazing ! ( rubbish )

Ok not sure if this is bog standard but just witnessed the equivalent of CINTRI pull up in front of the restaurant I'm sitting at. Chick stops her wagon and all the business owners come out and pick up their well organised plastic bins and tip them in to the cart . A few pleasantries and she's off.

Very civilised.

What city? I was just in Vung Tau for 2 weeks where the streets are very clean.

She probably pays them so they're quite happy to bring out recyclable waste. I doubt her "wagon" would be able to take away everyone's worthless waste.

I see that all over Vietnam but the Vietnamese are just as bad at chucking their rubbish everywhere as the Khmer. But the rubbish collection and street sweeping is considerably better organized that in Cambodia where private companies get the right without any tender, supervision, or control.

Do you think that if the RGC ran the rubbish collection / street cleaning that they would make a better job of it than the private company, or a much worse one ?

Yeah. Personally I would not trust 90% of the RGC and their civil service to be able to put there trousers on the right way around in the morning and get to work on time, let alone anything as the logistics involved in daily street cleaning and rubbish collection.
