Weed that does not get you stoned is called Hemp. Hemp has 0.3%thc or less. CBD is derived from both and does not get you stoned. I take it you do not partake.

Nope.
Had my first bong in early 90s on Koa Phanghan. It was trippy but never experienced that feeling since.
Smoked a bit in Oz same time. Laughed a lot.
That was it.
Oh and I had one drag a few months ago but it made me feel nauseous.
If it’s peoples thing I’m not bothered. Many of my friends smoke and I like the smell.
But weed smokers who bleat on about the health benefits whilst not actually using it for any health benefits do my nut in.
Yeah we get it. You like being stoned. Cool.
pew, pew, pew, pew!

Thailand has legalized Medical Marijuana hence the thread title. Plenty of folks there making thier own Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) that derive benefits from the plant. Trying my best here to share information and promote a fact based discussion.

A little more information with some decent pics of proposed end product from the Thai Gov't. in the link " This project has to do with extracting oil from cannabis for the treatment of illnesses in necessary cases. Quality and all-round safety standards must be met, from the planting of the cannabis and the oil extraction to the application of the drug. The use of the oil must be certified by the Department of Medical Sciences as being free of pesticides and metal and chemical residue.
The dispensing of the drug must also strictly comply with medical standards. The project is undergoing a trial period and being evaluated and streamlined to best respond to the medical needs of patients, observers say.
Pharmacist Suphaporn Pitiporn, head of the pharmaceutical division of Chaophraya Abhaiphubejhr Hospital, said the clinical trial is being run in three stages. The first stage, conducted on June 24, involved 10 patients suffering from Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's and cancer of the large intestine. A follow-up on efficacy within the first 24 hours of treatment confirmed no patient exhibited side effects. In fact, the drug showed signs of working on some patients. For example, those with dysarthria could speak more distinctly and others had less difficulty walking.
In the second stage, scheduled to take place in September, about 100,000 bottles of oil extracts will be used to cure pain of the peripheral nervous system which was not responding to treatment by conventional medicine.
In the third stage, planned for launch in November, oil will be extracted from 16 cannabis plants which were planted by the organic herb community in Ban Dong Bung in Prachin Buri on June 22 and are expected to be ready for use by October." They seriously still need to address the content's potency issue. How much THC vs CBD is in each dose? https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... l#cxrecs_s

Ton inform people who need it, I personally know some people in Thailand who got cannabis oil for their health problem.
The sourcing is not very clear and might not be 100% legal, but it comes from official persons, not dealers.
So yes, it is now already available if you really look for it.
Thailand has for the first time taken a smart decision unlike all retarded neighbors countries.

A bit of good news as 3000 "Folk Practioneers" are added to the list of legal prescribers. Bangkok Post
Anutin seeks amendment of cannabis law
PUBLISHED : 22 JUL 2019 AT 04:30
New Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has ordered ministerial regulations to be revised to help 3,000 folk practitioners, including activist Decha Siripat, prescribe cannabis without violating narcotic laws.
Without the amendment, these practitioners will not be allowed to use cannabis because the 2018 Narcotic Act permits only professionals -- such as doctors, pharmacists, dentists and licensed Thai traditional medical practitioners recognised by the Thai Traditional Medical Professions Act -- to prescribe cannabis to their patients.
Mr Decha and 3,000 other practitioners received a five-year-certificate from the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTTAM) to tend to their patients, but they are not treated as professionals under the law.
If they want to acquire that status, they need to undergo a lengthy process -- which takes a year -- to get approval from the Ministry of Public Health.
"The amendment is an attempt to help users of cannabis taking the drug for medical reasons. We want to make sure patients and medical practitioners of cannabis medical treatment will be free from legal problems," Mr Anutin said yesterday. He was speaking after a meeting of advocacy groups.
He said the amendment will add a clause that automatically includes these 3,000 practitioners under the Thai Traditional Medical Professions Act.
The move comes after the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) on Friday announced it could not approve the "Decha Oil" formula cannabis-extract oil because Mr Decha was not a professional under Thai Traditional Medical Professions Act.
Mr Decha is president of the Khaokwan Foundation, a sustainable agriculture advocacy group. Three years ago he started giving away his own version of cannabis oil to patients for free.
The changes to the law will start next week and will be completed for Mr Anutin to sign in August, according to Rossana Tosittrakul, a former senator and representative of the Network of advocacy group on cannabis medical treatment who was also at the meeting.
"The regulation amendment will clear technical barriers which delay access of patients to cannabis treatment. We do not want to see thousands of patients wait in vain or die from waiting because the law has a technical problem," she said.
She added that the meeting also discussed the transfer of patients waiting for Decha Oil to receive medical treatment from other facilities approved by the ministry. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... w#cxrecs_s

A little info on Thailand's first indoor grow from the top of this thread. They are using LED lighting which is good news. The have sourced the seeds from Spain growing 3 strains(varitels) based on thc/cbd levels. Looking at weed menus in Spain is a pain. Each store has a small selection and little information beyond that. Pay money, join their club, etc. Anyway here is a link to legal club in Madrid where you can view their menu. https://weedmaps.com/dispensaries/paraiso-javea From the Bangkok Post: The cannabis seedlings in the GPO's plantation are not local varieties. The GPO imports the seeds from Spain.
"It doesn't mean that local breeds are not good, but the cannabis seeds from Spain are already graded and have passed the process of improving plant cultivars. The seeds have the quality that we need," said Vichien Keeratinijakal, a herb expert for the GPO project.
Only female flowers are used for oil extract.
The quality refers to the amount of two main compounds, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). The two chemical compounds, out of 400 components found in cannabis, are popularly used in modern medicines. THC can ease pain and nausea, reduce inflammation and act as an antioxidant. It can also make people high. CBD can reduce anxiety, spasticity, pain and sleeplessness. It can also counteract the high caused by THC.
The GPO has selected three cannabis varieties. The first group is plants that are high in THC and low in CBD. The second is plants that are high in CBD and low in THC. Third is plants with the same levels of THC and CBD.
"It is important to research the three varieties because the oil extracts will be used for different sicknesses," said FDA Secretary-General Tharet Karatnaiyarawiwong.
The Department of Medical Service will conduct clinical research while a committee will be set up to select patients for clinical treatment. They will be those who are diagnosed with epilepsy and chronic illnesses like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis (MS) and late-stage cancer, as well as cancer patients who have nausea and vomiting after chemotherapy.
Within the next four months, the GPO expects to produce 25kg of dried sensimilla or seedless cannabis flowers. In July, it plans to produce 2,500 bottles of cannabis oil extract, with about 5cc-10cc per bottle. Within the first 12 months, there will be 100kg of raw materials. The produce will help reduce the cost of imported cannabis.
"The cost of dry cannabis flowers starts at 150,000 baht per kilo. If the GPO can produce 100kg a year, it can break even within the first year," said Vichien.
The next step
Local herbalist Banthoon Niyamabha, better known as Lung Tu, treats cancer patients using oil extracted from cannabis. He claims to have been using local weed on his patients for decades.
"I am more than happy that what I have done for decades is now legal. My medicine works well on cancer patients," he said. He believes that, while it is good that the GPO is producing medical grade cannabis, typical cannabis can be used for medicine too.
The plants are grown under LED lights.
Next year, the GPO will invest 164 million baht on its second phase. It will renovate a rooftop of another building for a second plantation. This will be 10 times larger than the present facility at 1,000m². The second farm is expected to produce up to 700kg a year.
Soon the GPO will employ another growing technique, known as plant tissue culture, to ensure future plants have the same genetics as the original plants, according to Dr Withoon.
"It is like cloning the plants to have exact copies of the originals. We want every lot that we produce to have the same levels of THC and CBD," he said.
In 2021, the GPO plans to launch its third phase with a billion baht investment in its herbal complex in Nong Yai district, Chon Buri. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/sp ... ake-a-leaf

For all that had a look at the paltry offerings from Spain, some respite. Here is a link to a legal Cannabis shop here in Oregon. Also a good example of what the Thai cannabis market could look like with robust competition. https://www.leafly.com/dispensary-info/cannabliss-89th

Some more on RSO and Decha oil from earlier/Bangkok Post. At the age of 71, Daycha Siripatra needs no eyeglasses. His nearsightedness and astigmatism are things of the past. His hands that once showed an early sign of Parkinson's disease have no tremor. He says his brain, which once began to deteriorate, is now sharp.
"I am like a new guy. My brain and my body can function very well as if I was 50 years old, thanks to the cannabis oil that I use every night. It enables me to sleep well, which eventually contributes to my strength," he said.
Daycha is the founder and the president of Khao Kwan Foundation. Set up in his hometown in Suphan Buri in 1998, the foundation aims to educate rice farmers about organic farming and promote local rice varieties. He is known as a master organic rice farmer and a fighter for the rights of farmers.
Earlier this month, Daycha made headlines when authorities seized 205 marijuana plants, 20 litres of cannabis oil, 8kg of marijuana seeds and 500g of marijuana powder from his foundation. Pornchai Choolert, his assistant, was arrested and charged for illegally cultivating and possessing marijuana while Daycha was in Laos organising an organic farming workshop during the raid. aycha became interested in medical marijuana when he was 65. Like other people, his first thoughts were negative. He regarded it as an illegal drug. But at the same time he wondered why the plant was legal in many countries.
"I wanted to know if medical marijuana was for real. Although I read many medical studies about medical cannabis that can cure illness including cancer, I didn't want to believe. I wanted proof," he recalled the time when he decided to try cannabis oil on himself.
His inspiration was Rick Simpson, a Canadian who used cannabis oil to cure his skin cancer and who shares knowledge on how to extract the oil, known as Rick Simpson Oil (RSO). In 2012, Daycha used cannabis oil to cure his Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, which were in the early stages. He drank some drops before bedtime. One night after turning off the lights, he accidentally dropped the oil into his left eye instead of an anti-inflammatory drop, which he used to treat pterygium.
"My eye hurt badly. I turned on the bed light and looked at the bottle in my hand, I was shocked. I thought I would become blind," he said. Then the pain stopped and itchiness was gone. "When I woke up in the morning, the pinkish tissue in my eye disappeared. I thought it was a coincidence."
Daycha later adjusted a formula as advised by a monk. The pterygium was gone and never relapsed. Age-related macular degeneration and vitreous degeneration in his eyes were also cured. Even his nearsightedness and astigmatism were healed. The early signs of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's were cured too. With his experiences, he spread the knowledge and shared cannabis oil with others.
