New regulation marking Cannabis flower as a controlled herb.
From thaipbsworld:" Cannabis flowers, which contain a higher level of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) than other parts of the plant, have been classified as a controlled herb, under a new ministerial regulation already signed by Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, which will become effective after its publication in the Royal Gazette.
The minister claimed yesterday (Wednesday) that placing cannabis flowers under control will help ease concerns over their recreational abuse.
Anutin said the new regulation clearly specifies that people who can access the controlled herb must be over 20 years old and that pregnant and breast-feeding women are barred from access.
Classifying cannabis flowers as controlled herb was proposed by the Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine Department, as a temporary measure to curb abuse while the Cannabis and Hemp Bill is pending approval in parliament, after passing its first reading in the Lower House.
THC content varies between different parts of the cannabis plant, from 10-12% in the flowers and surrounding leaves, 1-2% in leaves, 0.1-0.3% in stalks to less than 0.03% in the roots, according to UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
Cannabis products are divided into three types, namely herb, resin (hashish) and oil. Cannabis herb comprises dried or crushed flower heads and leaves and contains up to 5% THC, but the oil is the most potent form of cannabis, which is derived from concentrated resin and may contain up to 60% THC.
While insisting that the intent of the decriminalisation of cannabis and hemp is for medical use and for economic reasons, he said the problem with the two plants stems from abuse or unnecessary use beyond safe levels.
The Thai Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) is currently accepting registration for the cultivation of cannabis and hemp. By yesterday, 840,857 people have registered and certificates have been electronically issued to 815,172. More than 38 million have logged into the TFDA’s website and application platform since June 9th." https://www.thaipbsworld.com/regulation ... -thailand/

I have a medical condition that would allow prescription cannabis, but I'm not too sure on how to go about claiming it in Europe. Should I stop taking the regular medicine so the doctor thinks it doesn't work? Then continue with the other plethora of medications until finally, they prescribe me cannabis?
I can afford to get high, but we all like something for nothing, don't we? (UK etc)
Btw, does anybody know if they prescribe weed in the UK? Or is it just a THC spray? Are the sprays any good a getting one high?

WRONG AGAIN!! Anyone can walk in a rec-legal dispensary in California now as long as long they are legally of age and buy Cannabis. This changed when California went Recreationally legal a couple years ago. (I was working in California when they went medially legal about 20 years ago.)Just like in Oregon, Nevada, Colorado and Washington state-all places I have been multiple times in the last couple years. Thailand does not want minors or pregnant women using weed. In Colorado In April this year I had to surrender my ID at entrance and had it returned to me at exit after I pruchased an ounce of Bubba Fett for $75. I do hope readers here do not take your feeble supposition as fact as that is exactly how baseless mis-information begins. States typically offer a medical discount for card carrying medical patients (In Oregon It saves you paying state taxes of 20%) when they transition from medically legal to recreationally legal.Phuket2006 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 6:13 pmit will turn out like Ca > dispensaries were ONLY for people that had a medical card>

The latest from the Bangkok Post on regulations that have passed through the first reading-still needing 2 more readings before being chiseled into some sort of final legislation. Expect a lot of confusion again as Anutin has been quoted below as saying this," "What we are controlling is the amount of THC by weight, which shouldn't exceed 0.2% per gramme, or it is considered a narcotic," Mr Anutin said.
Now that Cannabis flower has hit over 40% thc per gram in the USA this will only exacerbate any attempt at a logical discussion about the bills merits concerning Cannabis flower potency.

"Ganja now listed as controlled herbal remedy

Cannabis has been listed as a controlled herb under the Traditional Medicine Wisdom Protection and Promotion Act to prevent its abuse, especially among youngsters.
Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the listing is intended to prevent the use of cannabis by individuals under the age of 20, as well as its use in certain public places, such as education outlets, department stores and state-owned agencies, among others
The minister yesterday signed an order to control the use of cannabis after the plant was decriminalised on June 9 and sparked concerns among doctors and others involved in health.
The listing says cannabis and its extracts are a controlled herb. It prohibits the use of cannabis and cannabis extracts by people aged under 20 years old, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.
However, it allows those who are at least 20 years old to own, use or distribute and grow cannabis plants.
It also allows doctors to prescribe cannabis and its extracts to patients.
The patients, regardless of their age, can also use and own cannabis and its extracts according to their medical prescriptions.
"What we are controlling is the amount of THC by weight, which shouldn't exceed 0.2% per gramme, or it is considered a narcotic," Mr Anutin said.
He said the ministry is also attempting to rein in the use of cannabis by banning its use in public places, which is considered a nuisance under the Public Health Law.
The listing under the act will be enforced until a law on cannabis and hemp is announced.
A bill passed its first reading at the beginning of this month and will need time for the second and third readings.
During this period, the regulations of the Public Health Department will be guidelines for law enforcement.
Opponents of cannabis legalisation have voiced their concerns on the matter, saying deregulating the use of cannabis will bring Thai youths one step closer to drug abuse."
These groups are calling for more aggressive measures to curb access to cannabis by minors.
Separately, Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt has banned the use of any cannabis-based products in schools" https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... bal-remedy

Richard, you claim to be a photo-journalist as listed by your occupation here while I have never claimed to be an expert in anything. Most of what you post here would never make it past a copy editor yet you want me to be able parse the difference in the verbage you use here. Is this you?Phuket2006 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 11:46 amabove; BEFORE it was fully legalized you needed a med card to buy it>

" sonic; u mention grms of hash at 500baht/ and grms of weed at same
how can that be. when we made hash from shake/pollen it was 10 to 1
since hash is made by extracting and processing the resin glands, (Kief) leads me to believe its illegal. "

The aptly titled Prikpot-a nation wide Cannabis delivery service has launched in Thailand. Based in Chang Mai they are advertising next day delivery if your order is placed by 1pm. Prices are on the prickly side, with flower at 700b. They do offer a single gram of kief at 1490b-advertising potency between 50-70% which is a laughable guess at best. I have not seen any kief stateside test above the high 30's to low 40's. Possible but highly improbable. All kief i have seen in the USA is always derived from a singular strain and never a mixture of un-named strains. Anyway have a look at their sites.

A 10 plant limit per household has made it's way into legislation awaiting further deliberations and final readings. I can live with that. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/house-comm ... 10-plants/
