Cheapest bank ATM for foreign cards?
What's the best atm for a foreign card, with little or no fee?
Truly, I've got nothing better to do.

Probably Canadia, although your home bank might charge you a fee.

You might wanna start w/your bank. Get one that refunds foreign exchange & ATM fees. In the US - Schwab & First Republic come to mind.

Right. Etrade used to, but they stopped refunding foreign ATM fees and now only refund domestic ATM fees.wackyjacky wrote:You might wanna start w/your bank. Get one that refunds foreign exchange & ATM fees. In the US - Schwab & First Republic come to mind.

Worst is ANZ Royale which charges as much as $7.50 per transaction![/quote]
Not for me it's not.
Of course having an Australian ANZ card helps...withdrawels cost me zilch.

I am currently in Australia and heading that way early March. I have just taken the advice of posters on a previous thread and opened a Citibank Plus account. On the advice of the poster and the terms and conditions of the account it would appear there are no fees on foreign ATM withdrawls. So if I use a Canadia ATM I should get away with no fees. I'm looking for the catch but it would appear that is how it is. Can only try eh. cheers
canadia is my favorite bank to use. I only end up getting the 1% foreign withdrawl penalty from my home bank. the other bank atms i've gone to charge between 3 and 5 dollars per transaction on top of the 1% foreign withdrawl fee.
I switched from ANZ to Canadia, but the Canadia ATM's freak me out, where they slowly "swallow" the card in a sort of stuturing motion.
Have you tried lubricant?Filofax wrote:I switched from ANZ to Canadia, but the Canadia ATM's freak me out, where they slowly "swallow" the card in a sort of stuturing motion.

Canadia doesn't seem to like Irish Visa Debit cards, have tried them with two and both times been sent packing with nothing. Perhaps their economist has been reading up on us.
Pity as I'd like not to pay local ATM charges.

I'm surprised nobody has called the OP a cheap Charlie yet... Looking for the "CHEAPEST" ATM.... Jeez, it's only a couple dollars guys...
Besides, wazzup with this double pricing; Canadia charging only the Cambodians withdrawal fees. So racist!

There is a secret ATM, know only by a few, on st 51. No fee ever

I've got an Irish Via Debit Card and have never had a problem with them. It's AIB in case that makes any difference.Bosco wrote:Canadia doesn't seem to like Irish Visa Debit cards,
