Acleda's Online Banking
Since at least last Monday - but probably before - this is what you get when you want to login to your account online:
http://acledabank.com.kh/assets/internet_bank
When calling and asking WHEN the service will be up and running again, the answer is always: don't know.

Possibly the worst bank in the world. Unfortunately though they are probably one if the safest in Cambodia, if not the safest.
I agree, took about 1.5 hours to get a cashier check, photo copy of ID, multiple signatures, but very friendly staff, and hey that's how they do things.Bosco wrote:Possibly the worst bank in the world. Unfortunately though they are probably one if the safest in Cambodia, if not the safest.

couple of years ago wired some money using an intermediary bank and had to do some follow up...plucked out one of their honchos using their online directory and shot out an email...wasn't really expecting much of a reply but lo and behold a reply came back very swiftly and continued with all my queries...not a bad effort i thought...
He's been in his room 35 years...time to let him out!
Acleda, the bank that forced me to change my signature forever. Each time I signed the form to open my bank account, the clerk pointed out a slight variance in the pre scrawl I do for my initials. After three goes, they made me use a thumbprint, and I dropped the initials from my signature to avoid any future confusion.
Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.
I cannot deal with the inefficient service or archaic online banking. To hell with Acleda.

For me the final straw was the ten days i had to wait for a new pin number and that after the pin number THEY gave me didn't work!GMJS-440 wrote:I cannot deal with the inefficient service or archaic online banking. To hell with Acleda.
That said almost all Acleda staff I have dealt with over the years have been absolutely pleasant to interact with, even if they rarely tell me what I want to hear.

I think Winston Churchill shares your sentiments.Bosco wrote:Possibly the worst bank in the world. Unfortunately though they are probably one if the safest in Cambodia, if not the safest.

LOL, that reminds me of this one a**hole at a bank in Siem Reap who made me redo my signature four or five times before he would accept it as near enough to the signature on my card. The differences were so minute it was ridiculous but he was steadfast in his refusal to accept anything that deviated in any way whatsoever from the signature on the back of my card. Meanwhile in the US, I can draw an X or a straight line through the signature area and nobody bats an eye.MoodyMac wrote:Acleda, the bank that forced me to change my signature forever.
