ABA is the same, however I prefer not to keep too much money in the account that the debit card is linked to just in case. I also use my card for online purchases and abroad, no issues at all.LexusSchmexus wrote:The ANZ is linked to the main account, so no need to do transfers of any kind. I constantly use it for online purchases as online as abroad and never had an issue.
"local" credit cards

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure. In sum, the setup is identical with my current one with that other bank. All easy enough.
I guess, I will get myself an ABA cc and try it out for a while. If works well for a few months, I assume it will continue to do so. After that I cancel the other accounts. Alone difference in fees and interest is up to 100 USD per year. And that's saving, money I do not need to make any longer
This was all very helpful

I applied and got issued an AEON Gold Visa Credit card and I have a pending application in ANZ. These are real credit cards where the bank issues a certain amount of credit line, not like debit cards or the ones offered by ABA where you need to place a security deposit.
Aeon credit card comes with line of credit indeed. Gold card holders have access to Aeon lounge at Aeon mall.

Can expats apply for this? when I went to their office about a year ago, they told me it was only for khmer citizen...If they issue for expats, what documentation did you need?UlyLee wrote:I applied and got issued an AEON Gold Visa Credit card and I have a pending application in ANZ. Yes they are available to expats, pick up a brochure from Aeon which has a list of all the criteria and documents required.venuslary wrote:Can expats apply for this? when I went to their office about a year ago, they told me it was only for khmer citizen...If they issue for expats, what documentation did you need?UlyLee wrote:I applied and got issued an AEON Gold Visa Credit card and I have a pending application in ANZ. I had a Canadia visa credit card back in 2012 and they used to call me at 2am vertifying it was me making transactions. It was kind of cute, them checking up on me, seeming like they cared.
And now 5 years later, I'm back and see they have visa debit cards now. So I think easy, right? Turns out you can't make online purchases without calling their "24-hour Customer Service" line...and today I'm told the "expert" is out and can I call back tomorrow?
