Well, your guess was wrong. I don't know how you can spin that to say you weren't wrong.
If you had not posted the second sentence, you'd be right. But you did.
The point is that many expats seem to be involved in MFIs, and I think any reasonable person would assume they are benefiting from that. In fact, I think anybody who assumed they were
not benefiting would be somewhat (trying to be diplomatic, here) naive.
So it's p[possible- perhaps even likely - that the comment about them benefiting was based on truth. Whether that benefit is excessive, that is what we should perhaps be discussing.
I don't think that that is stretching the imagination too far.
