Greetings all. The hot weather has played havoc with my skin, resulting in all manner of itchy bumps, lumps and small wounds that won't heal properly and a worrisome looking mole.
The regular doctors are useless, a few creams, anti-biotics and the usual colorful sugar pill treatments.
Any recommendations for a competent skin specialist, preferably one who has some training elsewhere, that won't break the bank (Royal PP etc are out of my budget).
Would prefer a 'cut now' type of doctor to the 'take these pills and come back' sort.
Recomend a good dermatologist in PP
Young French guy in St.63. Sorry, can't remember the name of the place.

German trained. I know of several folk, including myself, referred to him and very happy with treatment.

With robw, he works for Procare Medical. Located on st 63. You need to book an appointment online.
I've been to Dr Mey Sithach but he was pretty useless as are most Khmer doctors, no matter where they have trained. Avoid him and rather spend a bit more to see the French guy. He will also tell you if treatment is not possible here. I had one choice in Cambodia for a rather risky procedure. Thailand was recommended for other options as they simply do not have the equipment here. However my condition would require monthly treatment (UV + meds) which is a hassle.

I think Marc Dumas from Procare left the country a while ago.
Dr Mey is ok for a first opinion, then go to Thailand.
FWIW I've been having the same symptoms, sans the mole, and am fairly sure it is Prickly Heat (trapped sweat) given the recent weather.
Chilling the affected area reduces the irritation. Scratching only makes it worse.

An update:
On St. 63, but couldn't find any French doctor, but chanced upon Dr. Tuk Huot "International Skin Clinic" opposide Champs Elysee hotel.
He seemed fairly competent, did a thorough examination with a machine and computer. His English was excellent and he explained his diagnosis clearly- stressing this was not certain.
Some more pills- which he actually gave details on what they were for and dosage/side effects, and some expensive sounding cream.
No need for biopsy yet, but he said it will be 3-4 weeks to notice any results and to go back for check-up after that time.
Skin does feel better, but not cured.
$58 for consultation and medicines- which apart from the cream were standard anti-histamines and monodoxycline that can be bought OTC.
WIll wait to give a full opinion until after the first treatment is completed.

The doc used to work for Procare, is called Marc Dumas but unfortunately he left Cambodia last January. He's been replaced by a gynecologist.Betty Swollocks wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 9:21 amAn update:

If you can afford to travel a bit the best dermatologist in Thailand is Dr. Anna Jaruoan. 15 years Stanford medical board at the top of her qualifications. 2000baht for a consultation and always book appts 2-3 weeks in advance.
