Well I indeed hope their neuroscience department has an independently verifiable record of excellence because I'd speak quite badly for all kinds of things in relation to Bangkok Pattaya from close acquantances over many years. In the last 5 years they caused the death of one in a fairly routine operation, ( they paid for all repatriation and burial expenses in the UK, pity the family didn't have the financial clout or means to pursue a just settlement ), just about killed another through a serious misdiagnosis and I've just lost another through cancer which was originally diagnosed as TB. Forget about their lumping up once they know you have insurance. It has a pretty bad reputation amongst the long term expats that I associate with. Routine stuff they can handle, I had a leg operation and fortunately woke up to find it still attached, but I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole for anything serious. It's a glitzy facade covering a well insured and unsueable litany of fuck ups in my considered opinion. Of course I'm sure they have 99.9% happy customers and I just happen to know the few bad cases they have got wrong.PenhMan wrote:Agreed. Get to Bangkok. Or, go to Pattaya. The Bangkok Hospital Pattaya (branch of the parent hospital in BKK) specializes in neurology. Don't know their reputation specifically in this but acquaintances speak well of the place for all kinds of things. Though a bit pricy. Pattaya is cheaper to stay long-term than Bangkok.wackyjacky wrote:"Brain operation" ??? Get your ass to Bangkok or better yet your home country.

I live here for the moment. I've had very good care at Pattaya International Hospital too, though not for brain issues.
Bumrungrad or Samitajev would be my own recommendations in Thailand. Good luck OP I hope your girlfriends sister gets sorted.
